
From the night of September 5 to the morning of September 6, prolonged heavy rain caused about 120 households in the villages of Tan Phu, Bon Mi Hoan, Bon Oi Hly, Bon Ling, Bon Ma Hrai, Bon Chu Knong, Chrôh Ponan, So Ma Long A, Yen Phu 1, Yen Phu 2, Thanh Trang (Ia Hiao commune) to be partially flooded. In addition, more than 109 hectares of rice, 86 hectares of corn, beans, and 43 hectares of cassava were flooded. The total estimated damage was more than 2.4 billion VND.

According to Mr. Pham Van Phuong, Secretary of the Party Committee of Ia Hiao Commune (Gia Lai Province), on the morning of September 6, after receiving information about heavy rain causing local flooding, the commune leaders directly waded into the scene, mobilizing forces to help people overcome the consequences caused by heavy rain. More than 20 police officers , militia, commune and village officials were mobilized to help people move their properties to higher ground. Currently, people whose houses were flooded are all safe, with no casualties; the commune is waiting for the water to recede to continue supporting people to overcome production. The commune People's Committee has also proposed financial support to help people stabilize their lives soon.
