Gia Lai strives to complete the set targets.

On the morning of April 18, the Gia Lai Provincial Party Executive Committee held its 19th Conference. The conference aimed to evaluate the results of directing the implementation of tasks in the first quarter, set out key tasks for the second quarter, and focus on discussing and giving opinions on many important contents to be implemented in the coming time.

The report on the socio -economic situation in the first quarter of 2025 shows that the industrial index, total social investment capital, budget revenue, total retail sales of goods and service revenue, and export turnover grew higher than the same period last year.

The fields of culture, society, health, science, technology, information and communication continue to develop; the work of caring for policy families, people with meritorious services, and social and community subjects is given attention and focus.

Political security, order and social safety are guaranteed.

Some notable results include: budget revenue reaching more than 35% of the central government's assigned target; as of April, the Provincial People's Committee approved new investment policies for 17 projects with a total registered capital of more than VND 1,900 billion, an increase of 70% over the same period.

Regarding the task of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses, as of April 17, the whole province has started and completed more than 5,983/8,485 houses, reaching 70.5% of the set plan.

Determined to complete the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses before June 30, 2025.

At this conference, the Standing Committee of Gia Lai Provincial Party Committee submitted document No. 75 to request the Provincial Party Committee's approval on the project to reorganize commune-level administrative units in the province. Specifically, the organization will be reorganized from 218 commune-level administrative units into 77 commune-level administrative units, including 8 wards and 69 communes.

Delegates expressed their high agreement with the policy of streamlining the administrative apparatus and improving efficiency in public service performance.

However, according to comrade Dinh Van Dung, Secretary of Chu Prong District Party Committee, the implementation process needs to consider building policies to create favorable conditions for accommodation and food so that cadres can work with peace of mind in their new places. For large areas with difficult travel, remote areas, it is necessary to reform administrative procedures to reduce people's travel.

According to the policy of implementing the 2-level government model at the local level, regarding the decentralization of basic construction management, currently the District Project Management Board is the investor of public investment projects, especially large projects and projects with linkages. Therefore, in order to avoid interruptions during the transfer process, Comrade Trinh Duy Thuan, Secretary of the Pleiku City Party Committee, proposed that competent authorities have a policy of early guidance to have an implementation plan during the transfer period, avoiding interruptions and ensuring the set progress.

Speaking at the conference, Comrade Rah Lan Chung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee, affirmed that according to the roadmap, the province's merger plan needs to be implemented urgently, however, the targets and plans must still be implemented with the highest determination.

Registered projects are still proceeding normally. Recently, the province has joined with Binh Dinh province in the policy of building a highway. If everything goes well, the project will start at the end of the year.

In addition, the Ministry of Construction has just announced the medium-term public investment plan for the 2026-2030 period with a total investment capital for upgrading and expanding of about 9,000 billion.

The Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee emphasized: " This is the time for officials and civil servants to show even more determination to strive to complete the set targets, without any wavering or retreating thoughts. When approaching investors, officials need to show a spirit of closeness, dare to meet, dare to dialogue, dare to create conditions for businesses to feel secure in investing and contributing to the development of the locality."

Concluding the conference, comrade Ho Van Nien, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council highly appreciated the working spirit of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, which completed the important contents set out in one day.

Comrade Ho Van Nien requested that Party committees, units and localities uphold the spirit of initiative, responsibility, urgency, seriousness, determination and resoluteness, make the most of time to carry out political tasks, including Saturdays, Sundays, and overtime, ensuring that from now until June 30, 2025, targets and tasks according to the set work programs and plans are completed.

Urge and promote disbursement of public investment capital in 2025, especially key projects and projects under the three national target programs, ensuring quality and efficiency.

Closely coordinate with relevant ministries, branches and localities to promptly complete procedures to submit to competent authorities for decision to start the Quy Nhon-Pleiku Expressway Construction Investment Project in 2025.

Closely following the direction and orientation of the Central Government and the actual situation of the province, promptly promulgate and direct the effective implementation of documents on organization and personnel work and the arrangement and streamlining of the apparatus of the provincial political system.

The Provincial Party Committee's Organizing Committee shall preside over and coordinate with the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and relevant Party committees, units and localities to urgently advise the Provincial Party Committee's Standing Committee to issue documents specifying the Central's documents on the implementation of the arrangement and merger of provincial and communal administrative units and the organization of a two-level local government system with 35 specific tasks, ensuring completion before April 22, 2025.

Comrade Ho Van Nien, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Gia Lai Provincial Party Committee noted: “Staff work must advise on specific and clear assignment of tasks to each Party Committee and unit and have a time limit for completion, paying attention to related issues such as: arranging headquarters; arranging staff; arranging funding; preparing facilities; resolving staff policies and regimes; digitizing documents...; must regularly grasp the ideological situation and mood of cadres, party members, and people and monitor, urge, and report implementation results for the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee to monitor and direct”.
