World rubber price
At the end of the trading session on May 16, in China, the price of June rubber futures on the Shanghai Stock Exchange decreased by 1% (150 yuan) to 14,845 yuan/ton.
Similarly, rubber futures for May delivery on the OSE in Japan fell 0.1% (0.2 yen/kg) to 319.9 yen/kg. In Thailand, rubber futures for June delivery fell 0.5% (0.37 baht) to 76.2 baht/kg.
Compared to the end of last week, rubber prices in Thailand, Japan and China changed by +3.9%, +4% and +2% respectively.
According to the General Department of Rubber of Cambodia, in the first 4 months of this year, Cambodia produced 81,962 tons of rubber latex, down 5,171 tons (equivalent to a decrease of 5.9%) compared to the same period in 2024.
Cambodia exported 76,467 tons of rubber latex, down 8,961 tons (10.5%) year-on-year, earning US$148.18 million from rubber latex and US$1.69 million from rubber wood (6,929 m3).
However, data shows that in April alone, rubber latex output reached 17,882 tonnes - an increase of 13,127 tonnes (equivalent to 276%) compared to March 2025 and an increase of 1,642 tonnes (10.1%) compared to April 2024.
The average price of rubber latex in April 2025 reached 1,989 USD/ton, down 89 USD (4.71%) compared to March, but up 457 USD (29.84%) compared to April 2024 when the price was 1,532 USD/ton.
Ken Oudomonysinat, general director of Sailun Tire Cambodia, a tire factory located in the Sihanoukville Special Economic Zone (SSEZ), told The Post on May 16 that domestic and international rubber prices have been rising continuously for more than a year. He also said that the opening of more tire factories in Cambodia has helped improve the domestic market.
The director added that the current rubber latex price in Cambodia recorded an average of over 1,900 USD/ton, slightly higher than the same period in 2024 and may continue to increase in the coming time.
“Demand for rubber from domestic tyre manufacturers is steadily increasing and is expected to continue to increase in the future, as there are currently seven tyre factories operating or under construction in Cambodia,” he added.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture , in 2024, Cambodia exported US$671.68 million from rubber latex and rubberwood products, an increase of 36.48% compared to 2023.
The average price of rubber latex on the international market in 2024 is 1,971 USD/ton, an increase of 634 USD (47%) compared to 2023.
According to the General Department of Rubber, by the end of 2024, the rubber growing area in Cambodia will reach 425,443 hectares, up from 407,172 hectares in 2023. Of which, about 22.37% of the area is under care and has not been exploited.
Domestic rubber price
Purchase price at Mang Yang Rubber Company today: Grade 1 latex is at 401 VND/TSC/kg, grade 2 latex is at 397 VND/TSC/kg.
Today's mixed latex: Mixed latex type 1: at 409 VND/DRC/kg, mixed latex type 2 at 359 VND/DRC/kg.
Phu Rieng Rubber Company: Water latex price is at 440 VND/TSC/kg; Mixed latex price is at 400 VND/DRC/kg.
Ba Ria Rubber Company, latex rubber price today: Level 1 is priced at 452 VND/ TSC degree/kg applied to TSC degree from 30 and above; Level 2 is priced at 447 VND/ TSC degree/kg applied to TSC degree from 25 to under 30; Level 3 is priced at 442 VND/ TSC degree/kg, applied to TSC degree from 20 to under 25.
Price of mixed latex: Cup latex, coagulated latex with DRC ≥ 50% at 18,000 VND/kg; Cup latex, coagulated latex with DRC from 45-50% at 16,700 VND/kg; Clotted latex with DRC from 35-45% at 13,500 VND/kg.
Price at Binh Long Rubber Company: Water latex: 386-396 VND/TSC/kg; mixed latex with 60% DRC is 14,000 VND/kg.
