Ho Tram will be the center of Long Hai - Binh Chau tourist area.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Tho has just chaired a meeting to listen to the Department of Finance report on the adjusted content of the " Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, vision to 2050" (Provincial Planning). Attending the meeting were leaders of relevant departments, branches and People's Committees of districts and cities.

Ho Tram is attracting many domestic and foreign investors to invest heavily in the field of tourism and resorts.

At the meeting, the representative of the Department of Finance reported that according to the Tourism System Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2045 approved in Decision No. 509/QD-TTg dated June 13, 2024 of the Prime Minister , the entire Long Hai - Binh Chau area will become a national tourist area; in which the Ho Tram area is the center of this national tourist area and is developing very strongly with many large-scale, international tourism projects.

Along with the investment in putting Long Thanh International Airport into operation, Ho Tram area is increasingly attracting the attention of tourism investors. However, in the previous planning of the province, the connection from Long Thanh International Airport to Ho Tram area has not been calculated for the route planning for direct connection, ensuring shortening the distance and travel time of tourists, especially high-end tourists.

Currently in the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Planning, road traffic connecting from Long Thanh International Airport to Ho Tram area has many connecting routes, but must go through many types of mixed roads (highways, national highways, provincial roads), which is prolonged in distance.

Most of the traffic routes follow the current status through many densely populated areas and urban areas, so the traffic speed will be limited, travel time will be prolonged... not convenient, so it cannot meet the requirements to serve the effective development of Ho Tram area, Long Hai - Binh Chau national tourist area as well as the entire economic and tourism dynamic axis in the Southeast of the province.

According to planning, Long Hai - Binh Chau area will become a national tourist area.

Based on the above reality, the Department of Finance proposes to add to the Provincial Planning to build a new Ho Tram urban expressway - Long Thanh International Airport. Adding to the planning to invest in the project is necessary to achieve the goals of the fastest and shortest connection from Ho Tram area to Long Thanh Airport; opening up new urban development space, contributing to maximizing the advantages of the economic potential of sea tourism in Ho Tram area and the entire Long Hai - Binh Chau national tourist area;

When put into operation, the Ho Tram Urban Expressway - Long Thanh International Airport will promote the development of a synchronous and sustainable coastal urban system, promote the rapid development of the dynamic economic axis of coastal tourism in the Southeast of the province; complete the traffic infrastructure to connect Ba Ria - Vung Tau province with localities in the Southeast region and with the national traffic infrastructure; contribute to the socio-economic development and ensure national defense and security of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province in particular and the Southeast region in general.

At the same time, the Ho Tram urban expressway - Long Thanh international airport promotes socio-economic development in the areas where the route passes, forming new development spaces, developing urban areas and residential areas according to the transport development orientation (TOD), accelerating the urbanization rate, creating a foundation for rapid and sustainable development of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province in the next stages, aiming to contribute to double-digit economic growth in the coming time.

Also at the meeting, the Department of Finance proposed to supplement the development of a system of supermarkets and first-class commercial centers, concentrated in central areas, serving the needs of residents and tourists, increasing investment attractiveness in the service industry; adjusting land use and environmental planning; in which, reviewing and adjusting the land area used for transportation, trade, forestry, ensuring compliance with the new planning and sustainable development orientation; updating environmental zoning plans, forest protection and biodiversity.

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Tho requested the Department of Finance to preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies to absorb comments at the meeting, supplement and complete the adjustment dossier of "Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, vision to 2050" in accordance with regulations.
