Major policy "opening the way" for youth
Phuc Trach Youth Village was established in 2001 in village 11, Phuc Trach commune, managed by the Youth Volunteer Team for Economic Zone Construction (abbreviated as Phuc Trach Youth Team).
This unit under the Ha Tinh Provincial Youth Union was assigned the task of gathering and mobilizing young people and intellectuals to come to village 11 to sing the "song of breaking the ground" together, implementing socio-economic development programs and projects (total investment of 16 billion VND), contributing to helping the poorest rural area of the province change and prosper.

Recalling the early difficult days, Mr. Nguyen Van Hoang - a member of the Phuc Trach Youth Union shared: “I am from the old Huong Do commune. After being discharged from the army, I returned to my hometown to start a family without land, house, or capital. In 2003, my family volunteered to come here to start a business, facing countless difficulties and shortages in all aspects when the surrounding area was wild mountains and forests, there were no roads, infrastructure was almost empty, production was just starting... But thanks to the attention and support of the Provincial Youth Union, the union and the locality, we believed and determined to reclaim land, open roads, bring electricity, dig wells, build houses, and start production.”
According to the assessment of insiders, the establishment of the Youth Village and the Phuc Trach Youth Union is a correct, necessary and especially meaningful policy for the youth who love to work, have the desire to start a business but lack jobs, land for production, capital and experience. At the same time, this model also helps the commune reclaim wasteland, develop infrastructure, transfer science and technology, promote socio-economic development, protect forests and improve cultural and educational life.

Mr. Ho Xuan Hieu - Captain of Phuc Trach Youth Union said: "To carry out its "mission", the union always strives to overcome difficulties and persistently carry out assigned tasks. We stand side by side with the union members in developing production, eliminating hunger and reducing poverty, striving to get rich, and building a happy family life. Thanks to the solidarity and unity of the union, a barren land has become a prosperous countryside, with many garden and hill economic models generating high income, contributing to socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security in particularly difficult areas."
Realizing the great policy, suitable for them, hundreds of young intellectuals and youth volunteers came here one after another, persistently staying, joining hands to build the new countryside. In the midst of difficulties, they still saw a bright future ahead, working together, contributing tirelessly to today have a prosperous life, this place has become a countryside full of vitality, among the richest and most beautiful in the region.
From nothing to rich bosses

Thai Van Huong and his wife were the second family to come to the Phuc Trach Youth Village to start a business. When they arrived, they had nothing, no land to settle down, and no stable jobs. After nearly a quarter of a century of struggling, his family has now “turned a page” and become one of the wealthy families.
Mr. Huong excitedly said: “In addition to 200 Phuc Trach grapefruit trees, selling seedlings, planting raw forests for an income of about 350 million VND/year, my family also has about 10,000 agarwood trees that are ready to be harvested, worth about 17 billion VND. To have the life we have today, we are very grateful for the care and support of generations of Provincial Youth Union officials and young intellectual volunteers through the years. If it weren’t for the youth village, we certainly wouldn’t be where we are today.”

Thanks to the perseverance in reclaiming land and establishing villages, the young men who started from scratch in the Phuc Trach Youth Union have now become wealthy bosses, with luxury houses, cars, and billions of dollars in assets. From the initial place of only 10 households, the village now has more than 160 households, with spacious houses, modern infrastructure, rapidly developing economic sectors; agarwood trees, rubber trees, and green grapefruit trees on the hillsides; prosperous lives for the people, and their children are well educated.
Mr. Hoang Xuan Bang - an officer of the Economic Department of Phuc Trach Commune (former member of the Phuc Trach Youth Union) informed: "Thanks to the guidance of the union, the support of the locality and the diligence of the members, village 11 is now the richest area of the commune. 95% of households have bank deposits, dozens of households own assets worth over 10 billion VND, many households have an income of over 1 billion VND/year, there are no more poor or near-poor households".

Vice Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union Nguyen Ny Huong said: “Implementing the policy of "opening the way" for youth in Phuc Trach, the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee over the years has been very responsible, creating favorable conditions for the Phuc Trach Youth Union to successfully complete its "mission". This place has helped hundreds of young people and young intellectuals grow up and have a prosperous and wealthy life in the "land of poverty" in the past.
This is also an important factor helping the locality to form a densely populated residential area with decent infrastructure, adding resources for socio-economic development, maintaining national defense and security, and ensuring social security. These results have been recognized and highly appreciated by the Central Youth Union, the province, the locality and the team members themselves.
