Urgently clean up schools and classrooms to soon stabilize learning after floods

(Baohatinh.vn) - Immediately after the water receded, flooded schools in Ha Tinh province urgently mobilized teachers and parents to clean up, repair facilities, and soon stabilize learning.

The recent rains and floods have inundated many areas, affecting many schools in Ha Tinh , especially schools in Ky Anh town and Cam Xuyen district (old).

With the motto "where the water recedes, there is hygiene", schools have mobilized the maximum number of teachers, staff, youth union members and parents to join hands to clean up mud, disinfect, wipe tables and chairs, and rearrange classrooms to soon stabilize teaching and learning order.

At Ky Thinh Kindergarten (Vung Ang Ward), on November 2nd - when the floodwaters had just receded, the school mobilized all staff and teachers to immediately start cleaning. The schoolyard, classrooms, toys, and learning tools were cleaned, dried, and carefully disinfected to ensure safe conditions for children to return to school.

Ms. Le Thi Thu Ha - Principal of the school said: "Floodwater rose rapidly, classrooms were submerged 40-50 cm deep at two schools in Tay Yen and Dong Phong residential groups. Many school supplies were damaged because they could not be moved, the electrical system was short-circuited, and mud was thick. As soon as the water began to recede, from the morning of November 2, all teachers started a general cleaning campaign. With the support of parents, the power lines were temporarily fixed. The ward health station also sprayed disinfectants to ensure a clean learning environment. The cleaning work will continue on November 3, we are determined to complete it soon to welcome children back to school in the cleanest and safest conditions."

Located in the downstream area of ​​Ke Go Lake, heavy rains and overflowing water have caused many schools in the communes of Cam Xuyen district (old) to be seriously flooded. At My Due Secondary School (Cam Due commune), many classrooms were flooded about 0.5 m deep after the flood. From the afternoon of November 2, although the water level in the school yard was still quite high, many teachers were present in time, taking advantage of the time when the water receded to clean and wash classrooms, wipe tables and chairs, rearrange learning tools, and prepare a clean and safe environment for students to return to school.

Mr. Nguyen Tran Quang - Principal of My Due Secondary School shared: "We identified cleaning and restoring classrooms as the key task right after the flood. Despite the hardship, all teachers promoted their sense of responsibility, put aside their housework, and actively participated in cleaning the school. Each cleaned classroom is a joy and motivation for both teachers and students to soon return to normal learning, ensuring program progress."

This morning (November 3), Ha Huy Tap High School (Cam Lac commune) also mobilized all staff and teachers to quickly clean up and arrange classrooms, with the determination to soon stabilize students' studies.

Mr. Nguyen Van Dung - Principal of Ha Huy Tap High School said: "As soon as the flood receded, we assigned specific tasks to each group. The cleaning work is not only wiping and arranging, but also checking the electricity and water systems and teaching equipment. The goal is to soon stabilize learning conditions, ensure safety for students and teachers, help them return to normal classes, without interruption of the school year program."

According to the education sector's report, the floods have caused many schools in Ha Tinh to be severely flooded. As of this morning (November 3), the whole province still has 34 schools flooded, more than 18,000 students cannot go to school. Many classrooms, schoolyards and equipment are soaked with mud and damaged. Immediately after the water receded, the sector directed schools to urgently carry out general cleaning of classrooms, check and repair damaged equipment, spray disinfectant in classrooms, and collect school supplies. All staff, teachers and parents were mobilized simultaneously, promoting a proactive and positive spirit to soon stabilize learning.

Up to now, schools in flood-affected areas in Ha Tinh are actively cleaning, rearranging classrooms, preparing adequate equipment and ensuring a safe environment. Schools are also developing appropriate plans for compensatory teaching and stabilizing the curriculum to help students quickly return to normal learning.
