Although studying at the Faculty of Construction Mechanics, Ha Tinh Vocational College, many students have earned 4-6 million VND/month thanks to part-time jobs at auto garages in Ha Huy Tap Ward. "Studying while working" has become a familiar trend for many vocational school students. In addition to theoretical lessons, they practice directly at workshops, production facilities, and even take on outside jobs to earn extra income.

Le Trung Duc - Automotive Technology Class, Ha Tinh Vocational College confided: "At first, I only participated in the part-time job with the purpose of gaining more experience. Later, the garage owner hired me to work part-time on Saturdays and Sundays, earning an average of 4-5 million VND per month, enough to cover my rent and living expenses."

Not only Duc, many students studying mechanics, hairdressing, cooking... at vocational schools in the province are proactively taking on extra jobs. Some students help out at factories, some take on small orders or sell their own products online. That is how they practice their skills and gradually assert themselves. Many students are highly appreciated by businesses and retained to work while still studying. Like Dau Viet Hoang, class 27 of Electricity - Ly Tu Trong Vocational College, during his internship at local businesses, he was paid 7 million VND/month. This source of income has helped him cover living expenses and tuition fees.

Mr. Nguyen Duy Binh - a teacher at Ha Tinh Vocational College, who is also the owner of an auto repair shop in Cam Binh commune, Ha Tinh province, said: "Currently, many vocational school students are very hard-working and have good skills. I often let them do practical work early so that they can both study and earn an income. When they graduate, they just need more guidance and they can do it right away."

For vocational school students, the first money they earn always has a special meaning. Not only does it help reduce the burden on their families, but it is also a source of pride and motivation for them to try harder in their studies.

According to Mr. Tran Dinh Long - Principal of Ly Tu Trong Vocational College: "The school encourages students to take on small jobs or internships at businesses. When exposed to real life, they quickly grasp skills and are much more confident than when they only study theory. Creating conditions for students to "study and work" helps them develop a sense of work ethic, discipline and professional skills. Students who have the spirit of self-study and self-employment early often have more job opportunities after graduation. We consider this an important part of the practical training program."
In the context of an increasingly competitive labor market, vocational skills and practical adaptability are decisive factors. The fact that students proactively earn money while still studying demonstrates a dynamic and creative spirit - qualities that are essential for the young labor force in Ha Tinh today. From small jobs such as repairing fans, welding door frames or doing beautiful hair for customers, all help them build a solid career foundation for the future. The story of "earning money while still in school" is therefore not only a matter of making a living, but also a testament to young people being independent, confident and asserting themselves through honest labor.
