Gia Lai: Striving for total export turnover of agriculture, forestry and fishery products to reach 770 million USD

That is the goal in Plan No. 1279/KH-UBND of the Provincial People's Committee to implement Decision No. 681/QD-BNNMT dated April 8, 2025 of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment on promulgating the Action Plan to implement the growth target of the Agriculture and Environment sector and the total export turnover of agriculture, forestry and fishery products in 2025 in Gia Lai province.

According to this plan, the province will focus on 8 groups of tasks and solutions for implementation. Specifically: raising awareness, determining strong political determination, resolutely leading and directing, creating new momentum in the entire Agriculture and Environment sector to achieve growth targets. Perfecting policies to serve the growth of the Agriculture and Environment sector and the export of agricultural, forestry and fishery products; synchronously and effectively implementing resolutions, strategies, programs, projects, planning and development plans for the province's Agriculture and Environment sector. Continuing to promote restructuring of the sector, improving productivity, quality, added value of products and efficiency of production and business of agriculture, forestry and fishery. Promoting administrative procedure reform to serve people and businesses. Continue to implement administrative reforms, remove barriers, bottlenecks in mechanisms, policies, administrative procedures, associated with digital transformation in agriculture, rural areas, natural resources and environment to create strong momentum for growth in the agriculture and environment sector. Review and advise on the issuance of a list of projects to encourage investment in agriculture and rural areas and organize activities to promote and attract investment from enterprises and cooperatives to invest in agriculture and develop key agricultural products of the province. The Department of Industry and Trade supports businesses in promoting trade, developing markets, and exchanging with neighboring economic zones; continuing to increase the value and bring the province's key products to major markets for export such as rubber, cassava starch, cashew processing, tea, coffee, pepper, fruits, etc. Preside over and coordinate with the Department of Agriculture and Environment, units, and localities to support and bring local agricultural and OCOP products to e-commerce platforms. Urge localities to speed up compensation, site clearance, investment in infrastructure construction, encourage and call for investment in industrial clusters to create clean land for investors, creating a premise for attracting investment in the agricultural sector.

The Department of Science and Technology increases investment resources for science and technology; attracts the attention of industries, localities, and enterprises to invest in scientific research, development, and technological innovation; focuses on enterprises for support and development. Promote technology transfer, apply scientific and technological advances to serve production. Coordinate with the Department of Agriculture and Environment to guide the application of standards, technical regulations, management systems, and modern management processes; support registration for protection, management, protection, exploitation, and development of intellectual property, products protected by intellectual property rights, etc.

The Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions shall take the lead in implementing the National Target Program on Socio-Economic Development in Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas for the 2021-2025 period according to the plan approved by the Provincial People's Committee; coordinate with relevant departments, branches and sectors and People's Committees of districts, towns and cities to organize the implementation of the content of supporting production development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, focusing on prioritizing support for production development in particularly disadvantaged communes, villages and hamlets.

People's Committees of districts, towns and cities shall study, develop and adjust local growth plans and scenarios, select contents, topics and models, and implement specific and effective solutions. In particular, adjust to increase the growth rate of the Agriculture and Environment sector, ensuring a proportionate contribution to the overall growth target of 4.9% or more of the Agriculture and Environment sector of the province in 2025. Develop key programs, projects and proposals; prioritize the development of key products and local specialties associated with the agricultural processing industry and consumption markets. Implement solutions to strengthen regional linkages, towards developing clusters of production-preservation, processing-consumption of agricultural products associated with concentrated raw material areas with synchronous mechanization, connecting with agricultural processing facilities and logistics systems, distribution channels, and agricultural product consumption, etc.
