Rice prices stable in the delta provinces
According to updates from An Giang, prices of fresh rice varieties such as OM 18, Dai Thom 8, Nang Hoa 9... continue to remain at 6,000 - 6,200 VND/kg. Popular varieties such as OM 5451 or IR 50404 are also stable at around 5,700 - 6,000 VND/kg. Supply from farmers is abundant, transactions in many localities such as An Giang, Dong Thap or Hau Giang are taking place regularly but not bustlingly.
Raw rice price decreased slightly.
The price of raw rice OM 380 decreased by 50 VND/kg, to around 7,700 - 7,800 VND/kg. Other raw rice varieties such as OM 18, IR 50404, CL 555 or 5451 remained at around 7,600 - 9,700 VND/kg. Finished rice such as OM 380, IR 504 was purchased at around 8,800 - 9,700 VND/kg. Many warehouses in An Giang , Sa Dec, Lap Vo still maintained a stable purchasing rhythm with little price fluctuation.
By-products and retail market hold prices
The prices of by-products such as bran, broken rice, and rice husks remained unchanged compared to yesterday, ranging from 1,000 to 9,000 VND/kg. Retail rice prices at traditional markets also remained stable. Nang Nhen rice still had the highest price of 28,000 VND/kg, while other types such as Huong Lai, Jasmine, Nang Hoa, and Soc Thai remained at a common price of 16,000 to 22,000 VND/kg.
Rice export price maintained
Vietnam's rice export prices today have no new fluctuations. According to the Vietnam Food Association, 5% broken rice remains at $377/ton, 25% broken rice at $357/ton and 100% broken rice at $317/ton. This is a competitive price compared to Thailand and India, but lower than some countries such as Pakistan.
The rice market on July 18 recorded slow developments, with stable rice prices while some raw rice varieties decreased slightly. Export prices remained at the same level, in the context of abundant domestic supply and not yet strong increase in purchasing power.
