Rice price today April 29: Fresh rice turns to decrease

Rice prices today, April 29, 2025 in the Mekong Delta region fluctuated slightly. The market has a small volume, rice of all kinds is relatively stable, some fresh rice products reversed and decreased slightly compared to the weekend.

Regarding rice, according to the update from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province, the current price of OM 5451 rice (fresh) decreased by 100 VND/kg, fluctuating between 6,400 - 6,600 VND/kg; the price of IR 50404 rice (fresh) decreased by 100 VND/kg, fluctuating between 5,700 - 6,000 VND/kg; the price of OM 18 rice (fresh) decreased by 50 VND/kg, fluctuating between 6,800 - 7,000 VND/kg; the price of Dai Thom 8 rice (fresh) decreased by 50 VND/kg, fluctuating between 6,900 - 7,000 VND/kg; the price of OM 380 rice (fresh) fluctuated between 5,900 - 6,000 VND/kg; the price of Nang Hoa 9 rice fluctuated between 6,650 - 6,750 VND/kg.

In many localities today, buying and selling transactions are slow, prices fluctuate slightly. In Dong Thap, farmers offer to sell evenly, early-season rice is of poor quality, traders have stopped buying much due to the upcoming holiday. In An Giang and Can Tho, summer-autumn rice is offered for sale sporadically, transactions continue to be slow, prices fluctuate slightly.

In Kien Giang , Summer-Autumn rice decreased slightly, trading was quiet, many traders were on holiday. In Long An, the supply was sporadic, most traders stopped buying, prices fluctuated little.

Regarding rice, according to the update from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province, currently, IR 504 raw rice fluctuates at 8,050 - 8,250 VND/kg; CL 555 raw rice fluctuates at 8,400 - 8,700 VND/kg; OM 18 raw rice fluctuates at 10,200 - 10,400 VND/kg; OM 380 raw rice fluctuates at 7,700 - 7,850 VND/kg; 5451 raw rice fluctuates at 9,600 - 9,750 VND/kg; OM 380 finished rice fluctuates at 8,800 - 9,000 VND/kg; IR 504 finished rice fluctuates at 9,500 - 9,700 VND/kg.

For by-products, the price of by-products fluctuates from 7,150 - 9,000 VND/kg. Currently, broken rice 2 has increased by 100 VND/kg, fluctuating at 7,150 - 7,250 VND/kg; the price of bran fluctuates at 8,000 - 9,000 VND/kg.

Recorded in localities today, some warehouses are preparing for holidays, the market price is stable. In An Giang and Lap Vo (Dong Thap), rice is coming in slowly, good rice is stable price, rice transactions are slow.

Sa Dec market canal (Dong Thap), low volume, slow warehouse purchases, stable prices. At An Cu (Cai Be, Tien Giang), volume is sporadic, transactions are slow, prices are stable.

At retail markets, rice prices of all kinds are stable compared to yesterday. Currently, Nang Nhen rice has the highest listed price of VND28,000/kg; regular rice fluctuates at VND13,000 - 15,000/kg; Jasmine fragrant rice fluctuates at VND16,000 - 18,000/kg; common white rice fluctuates at VND16,000/kg; Soc rice often fluctuates at VND17,000/kg; long-grain fragrant rice fluctuates at VND20,000 - 22,000/kg; Huong Lai rice 22,000/kg; Nang Hoa rice 21,000/kg; Taiwanese fragrant rice 20,000/kg; Soc Thai rice 20,000/kg; Japanese rice 22,000/kg.

In the export market, Vietnam's rice export prices remained unchanged compared to yesterday. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), currently 5% standard rice is at 395 USD/ton; 25% broken rice is at 368 USD/ton; 100% broken rice is at 323 USD/ton.
