Specifically, since June, durian exports have brought in 438 million USD, a slight increase of 8.4% over the same period last year. Notably, the main market China reached 412 million USD, an increase of 12% compared to June 2024.

Important markets that maintained impressive growth in the past 6 months also included Taiwan with 26 million USD, up 124%; Papua New Guinea with 20 million USD, up 242%. Notably, the Malaysian market - famous for the Musang King durian variety, also became a customer importing Vietnamese durian with a value of 1.1 million USD and ranked 10th among the largest importers.

Mr. Dang Phuc Nguyen, General Secretary of VINAFRUIT, is optimistic: "Accumulated estimates up to the end of July, durian exports reached about 1.2 billion USD, although still significantly lower than the same period last year, but the important thing is that there have been many positive signals with consecutive growth in the past 2 months and positive assessments from the Chinese monitoring delegation.
