Pepper price today November 19, 2025 continues to increase

Pepper prices in the key Central Highlands regions increased slightly by VND500, to about VND146,500/kg. The main driving force came from the news that the US would exempt reciprocal tariffs on pepper and spices, a group of products that the country does not produce itself, creating new expectations for the market.

The US is currently the largest market for Vietnamese pepper, but due to the impact of the reciprocal tax policy, exports to this country in the past 10 months have decreased by 28.5%, to only 45,800 tons. The US's decision to exempt taxes is considered a positive signal and can help exports recover in the coming time.

Despite the brighter outlook, the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association still warns businesses to work closely with US importers, especially on traceability and compliance with rules of origin. Previously, goods transiting to the US could be taxed up to 40%, so meeting all standards becomes even more important.

On the import side, Vietnam recorded a sharp increase. As of the end of October 2025, the imported pepper volume reached 37,783 tons, up 32% over the same period. Brazil was the largest supplier with 18,481 tons, accounting for nearly 49%, followed by Cambodia and Indonesia.
