Pepper price today May 5, 2025 in domestic market
Pepper prices today in some key growing areas remained unchanged compared to yesterday. Accordingly, the domestic pepper price level is from 154,000 VND/kg to 156,000 VND/kg.
In the Central Highlands region, pepper price today in Dak Lak remained unchanged compared to yesterday, currently at 156,000 VND/kg.
Pepper price today in Gia Lai is unchanged compared to yesterday, currently at 154,000 VND/kg.
Pepper price today in Dak Nong is unchanged compared to yesterday, currently at 156,000 VND/kg.
In the Southeast region, pepper prices today in Ba Ria - Vung Tau are currently at 155,000 VND/kg, unchanged from yesterday. Dong Nai is unchanged from yesterday at 155,000 VND/kg.
In addition, pepper price today in Binh Phuoc is unchanged compared to yesterday, currently at 155,000 VND/kg.

Due to the long holiday, domestic pepper prices last week mainly fluctuated between 154,000 and 156,000 VND/kg. They decreased by 500 VND/kg in Gia Lai and remained stable in other localities. World pepper prices last week fluctuated, with Indonesian pepper prices trending up, while those in Vietnam and Brazil decreased.
According to data from the International Pepper Community (IPC), the price of Indonesian Lampung black pepper increased by a total of 3% (US$214/ton) last week compared to the previous week. In contrast, the price of Brazilian black pepper ASTA 570 decreased by US$100/ton compared to the previous week. Similarly, the price of Vietnamese black pepper also decreased by US$100/ton. In Malaysia, the price of black pepper remained stable last week.
At the same time, the price of Indonesian Muntok white pepper increased by 3.09% (298 USD/ton) compared to the previous week. Meanwhile, the price of Vietnamese white pepper decreased by 1.02% (100 USD/ton). Meanwhile, in Malaysia, the export price of ASTA white pepper remained unchanged.
According to the International Pepper Community (IPC), global pepper production in 2025 could fall by more than 6% due to prolonged adverse weather in many pepper-growing countries. India is forecast to be the hardest hit, with a decline of about 25%. In Vietnam, slow harvest progress and reduced productivity due to drought are also affecting total output.
Meanwhile, pepper prices in major exporting countries are higher than the same period last year. This benefits farmers but puts cost pressure on importing countries and processing enterprises.
Pepper price today 5/5 in the world market
In the world market, based on quotes from export enterprises and export prices in various countries, the International Pepper Community (IPC) has updated the prices of pepper of all types traded in the international market on May 4 (local time) as follows:
Indonesia's Lampung black pepper price remained unchanged from yesterday at $7,340/ton. Meanwhile, Muntok white pepper price remained unchanged from yesterday at $9,941/ton.
Brazilian black pepper ASTA 570 price remained unchanged from yesterday at $6,800/mt.
Malaysia’s ASTA black pepper price remained unchanged from yesterday at $9,300/ton. Meanwhile, the country’s ASTA white pepper price remained stable from yesterday at $11,900/ton.
Prices of all types of pepper in Vietnam remained unchanged compared to yesterday. Of which, the price of 500 gr/l black pepper in Vietnam reached 6,700 USD/ton; 550 gr/l reached 6,800 USD/ton.
Similarly, Vietnam's white pepper price remained unchanged from yesterday at $9,700/ton.
