Domestic pepper price: Scattered increase of 1000 VND/kg
As of 5:00 a.m. today (June 7), the domestic pepper market increased slightly by 1,000 VND/kg. Currently, the pepper purchase price is recorded at 143,000 - 145,000 VND/kg.
Pepper prices in Ba Ria - Vung Tau and Dak Nong increased by 1,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday, staying at 144,000 VND/kg.
Gia Lai and Binh Phuoc both listed the price at 143,000 VND/kg, unchanged from yesterday. Meanwhile, Dak Lak is the province with the highest purchase price in the country at 145,000 VND/kg, up 1,000 VND/kg from yesterday.

World pepper prices: All remain unchanged
In the world market, pepper prices remained stable. At the Indonesian exchange, black pepper and white pepper were listed at 7,437 USD/ton (equivalent to 195,177 VND/kg); white pepper was listed at 10,142 USD/ton (about 266,167 VND/kg).
In Vietnam, the export price of black pepper 500 g/l and 550 g/l remained unchanged compared to yesterday, fluctuating between 6,300 and 6,400 USD/ton (equivalent to 165,401 - 168,026 VND/kg). The price of ASTA white pepper remained unchanged at 9,300 USD/ton (about 244,163 VND/kg).
Malaysian and Brazilian exchanges were stable. Malaysian white pepper continued to hold the highest global price at USD 11,850/ton (equivalent to VND 311,110/kg).
Comments and forecasts
In May 2025, Vietnam exported a total of 26,443 tons of pepper, including 23,117 tons of black pepper and 3,326 tons of white pepper. The total export turnover reached 182.4 million USD. Compared to April, the output decreased slightly by 0.6% and the turnover decreased by 0.9%. However, compared to the same period in 2024, the output decreased by 15.7% but the value increased by 29.3%.
The average export price reached 6,897 USD/ton. This price only decreased slightly compared to the previous month but increased by 53.3% compared to the same period last year, showing that pepper prices are on a strong upward trend.
In May, the largest exporters included Olam Vietnam (3,025 tons), Phuc Sinh (2,445 tons), Nedspice Vietnam (1,933 tons), Haprosimex JSC (1,613 tons) and Tran Chau (1,288 tons).
The three largest pepper consuming markets were the US (6,342 tons, down slightly by 1%), China (2,592 tons, up 93.9%) and the UAE (2,039 tons, down 8.3%).
In the first 5 months of 2025, Vietnam exported 100,693 tons of pepper, including 86,241 tons of black pepper and 14,452 tons of white pepper. The turnover reached 693 million USD. Compared to the same period last year, the export volume decreased by 12%, but the value increased sharply by 40.5%. The average pepper price in the first 5 months of the year reached 6,882 USD/ton, an increase of 59.6%.
Regarding enterprises, Olam Vietnam led with 10,717 tons (down slightly by 0.4%), followed by Phuc Sinh (9,157 tons, up 19.7%) and Nedspice Vietnam (8,568 tons, down 2.1%). Tran Chau and Haprosimex JSC reached 5,713 tons and 5,589 tons, respectively, both down sharply.
The US remained the largest export market, reaching 23,024 tonnes in the five months, accounting for 22.9% of the market share, although down 24.4% year-on-year. Other major markets included India (7,565 tonnes, up 9.1%), the UAE (7,020 tonnes, up 24.5%), Germany (6,252 tonnes, down 17%) and China (5,963 tonnes, up 22.4%).
