Ban Ve Hydropower Company: Steady production and active patriotic emulation

In the strong development flow of Vietnam's electricity industry, Ban Ve Hydropower Plant has emerged as one of the typical units in production, operation and innovation, and is also a bright spot in patriotic emulation movements in the period of 2020-2025.

Stable production, safe operation

Ban Ve Hydropower Company is the managing unit of Ban Ve Hydropower Plant, a hydropower plant with the largest capacity in the Central region, with 320 MW. Through many difficulties and challenges, the unit has constantly strived to improve, promoted the spirit of emulation and creative labor, and performed well the political , production and business tasks assigned by Power Generation Corporation 1 and Vietnam Electricity Group.

Since its operation with two units officially connected to the national grid in 2010, Ban Ve Hydropower Company has actively contributed to ensuring national energy security, especially for the North Central region. Every year, the plant's electricity output reaches an average of over 1 billion kWh, exceeding the assigned plan for many consecutive years. In 2024 alone, the electricity output reached 1,225 million kWh, equal to 158% of the plan, 133% higher than in 2023.

In particular, in the first 5 months of 2025, the electricity output of Ban Ve Hydropower Plant reached 362.82 million kWh. This is a clear demonstration of the urgent and effective working spirit of the unit's staff in maintaining and promoting power generation capacity in increasingly complex climate change operating conditions.

In addition to the task of electricity production, Ban Ve Hydropower Plant always focuses on equipment maintenance and repair with the motto "prevention is better than cure". The application of the reliability-based repair method (RCM) is a step in the right direction, demonstrating a strategic vision in long-term and sustainable operation. In 2024, the unit completed the overhaul of unit H1 and minor overhaul of unit H2, handling thousands of minor technical defects, ensuring the highest safety for the entire system. With a proactive, economical and flexible spirit, regular maintenance work is strictly carried out, significantly saving costs on material procurement and maintaining high readiness for backup equipment.

Not only stopping at technical and operational work, Ban Ve Hydropower also stands out in corporate governance. The quality management system is maintained according to ISO 9001:2015 and other international standards. The company promotes the application of digital technology in operations with human resource management software (HRMS), finance (ERP), engineering (PMIS), creating a solid foundation for administrative reform and digital transformation. These steps not only help the unit operate more effectively but also increase transparency, reduce administrative procedures, save time and costs for the entire system.

Occupational safety and hygiene and fire prevention are also of primary concern to the unit. Throughout 2024, there were no occupational accidents or fire incidents. The company synchronously implemented measures for equipment inspection, occupational safety and hygiene training, fire prevention and fighting drills and periodic inspections at each workshop. Workers' awareness of compliance with safety regulations has been significantly improved. The model of using Zalo groups to monitor safety on a daily basis demonstrates flexibility and creativity in management and has brought about practical results.

Promote patriotic emulation and community spirit

One of the clear highlights in the activities of Ban Ve Hydropower Company is the spirit of patriotic emulation that is organized widely and evenly. Emulation movements are closely linked to production activities, with each specific time and task. Emulation campaigns such as "completing production and business plans", "safe and effective operation", "ensuring quality and progress in overhauling generator sets" are always implemented methodically, with timely summaries and commendations. Thanks to that, the sense of responsibility and dedication of officers and employees are clearly enhanced, creating a vibrant competitive atmosphere, contributing significantly to the overall success of the unit.

From these emulation movements, many outstanding figures have been discovered, nurtured and honored in the recent period. Engineers such as Cao Thanh Liem - Head of Information Security Team, Technical and Safety Department, or Engineer Nguyen Thanh Luan - Team Leader, Operation Workshop have not only completed their professional tasks excellently but are also pioneers in innovation, technical initiatives and internal training. Their contributions are vivid evidence that the patriotic emulation movement is not just a formality but is truly a driving force for sustainable development.

Not only focusing on production efficiency, Ban Ve Hydropower is also a typical unit in implementing social responsibility and connecting with the community. The programs "Tet for the poor", "Mid-Autumn Festival for children", supporting the construction of charity houses, boarding schools for poor students, or releasing fish to regenerate aquatic resources have become annual activities organized by the company.

Over the past 5 years, Ban Ve Hydropower Company has contributed more than 24.2 billion VND to social security work. Notably, in the first months of 2025, the unit also supported 15 houses for the poor in Tuong Duong and Thanh Chuong districts. Supportededucation and supported people affected by natural disasters in Tuong Duong with a total value of nearly 2 billion VND. Each of these small actions not only demonstrates the spirit of humanity but also contributes to fostering good relationships between the unit and the people in the project area.
