Floods cause a lot of damage in Muong Khuong town

At around 7:30 a.m. on June 8, widespread thunderstorms occurred in Muong Khuong district, especially heavy rain in Muong Khuong town, causing flooding affecting some residential areas and many crop areas of the people.

According to information from the People's Committee of Muong Khuong town, prolonged heavy rain has caused the residential area of ​​Pho Cu to be deeply flooded.

Many households in Muong Khuong town suffered damage due to flooding.

The fields of Pho Cu village were deeply submerged in flood water.

According to preliminary statistics, the floods have caused flooding in some households along the main road through town, causing property damage.

Regarding damage to agricultural production, floods have damaged and flooded more than 20 hectares of crops in the fields of Pho Cu, Nhan Giong, and Sang Chai villages.

Immediately after the disaster, the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue of Muong Khuong district directed specialized agencies and People's Committees of communes and towns to inspect and count the damage; effectively implement the "four on-site" motto to support people to quickly overcome the consequences.

Authorities and local governments mobilized forces to support people in overcoming the consequences.

Because flood waters in Muong Khuong town have not yet receded, the total extent of damage cannot be assessed.
