According to Kitco, the world gold price recorded at 4:30 a.m. today, Vietnam time, was at 3,329.49 USD/ounce. Today's gold price decreased by 4.19% compared to yesterday. Converted according to the USD exchange rate on the free market (26,393 VND/USD), the world gold price is about 106 million VND/tael (excluding taxes and fees). Thus, the price of SJC gold bars is 15 million VND/tael higher than the international gold price.

Gold prices rose after falling more than 3% in the previous session, supported by a weaker dollar and bargain hunting, while market attention remained focused on any updates on US-China trade relations.

"The whole market is about one story right now, and that is tariffs. China is playing the angry side... That's driving stocks down, the dollar down and gold up. The run-up to $3,500 was a bit overdone and needs a correction to absorb. Gold is likely to trade sideways for the next few sessions, but we are in a bull market so any significant dips will definitely be bought in," said Tai Wong, an independent metals trader.

Elsewhere, stocks were little changed and the dollar’s ​​rally lost steam as investors tried to digest Mr Trump’s unexpected policy changes. A weaker dollar and risk aversion tend to make gold, considered a safe haven, more attractive to investors.

Meanwhile, data showed the number of Americans filing for first-time unemployment benefits rose slightly last week, suggesting the labor market remains resilient despite dark clouds over the economy caused by tariffs on imported goods.
