Speaking at the Forum, Mr. Vu Quoc Huy - Director of the National Innovation Center - said that the event is one of the important activities in proactively integrating and promoting international cooperation on innovation, aiming to support the Vietnamese business community in accessing advanced technology, expanding markets and attracting high-quality investment.
As a co-organizer, NIC hopes to create a bridge between the innovation ecosystem between Vietnam and Italy, contributing to promoting the development of core technology, strategic technology, knowledge transfer and enhancing competitiveness for Vietnamese enterprises in the context of digital transformation and international integration.
“With the orientation of becoming a regional innovation center, Vietnam is promoting the development and application of pioneering technologies such as semiconductors, AI, IoT, quantum technology, green hydrogen, etc. to serve green transformation and digital transformation . The potential for Vietnam-Italy cooperation in these fields is huge, especially in technology transfer and development of high-quality human resources, creating added value for both economies , ” said Mr. Vu Quoc Huy.
Ambassador of the Republic of Italy to Vietnam Marco Della Seta said that as one of the leading technology centers in Europe, Italy possesses a diverse research and training ecosystem, a team of highly qualified experts and outstanding strengths in core technology fields, especially the semiconductor industry and artificial intelligence. This forum is a practical step to strengthen the connection between research institutions, universities and businesses of the two countries, thereby promoting knowledge transfer, public-private cooperation and the development of high-quality human resources.
The main discussion contents of the Forum include: Exchange of policies, orientations and strategies for the development of the semiconductor and artificial intelligence industries, two core technology fields, playing a pivotal role in the digital transformation process and enhancing national competitiveness; discussion of strategies for building an autonomous technology supply chain, ensuring technological security and enhancing internal innovation capacity; sharing experiences in implementing public-private partnership models in research, training and technology commercialization, towards forming innovation centers and developing high-quality human resources; promoting business-to-business (B2B) connections, aiming to build an effective, sustainable and scalable bilateral technology cooperation network in the region and globally.
Through investment connection activities, businesses of both sides effectively exploit technology transfer, develop high-quality human resources, lay the foundation for national innovation, and gradually bring Vietnamese businesses deeper into the global value chain in the fields of semiconductors, artificial intelligence and strategic technology industries.
The forum is also an opportunity for Vietnam to affirm its position as a strategic destination for Italian and European technology “eagles”, contributing to shaping a new step forward for high-tech development, making Vietnam an important link in the global innovation map.
The Vietnam-Italy Strategic Partnership is built on the foundation of more than 50 years of cooperation and has been continuously developing comprehensively in many fields. In particular, science , technology and innovation are an important pillar, acting as a bridge and driving force to promote bilateral relations. Through the Science and Technology Cooperation Committee established in 1998, the two countries have strengthened research coordination, knowledge sharing and implemented projects in line with each side’s needs and strengths. Vietnam and Italy share a strategic vision for sustainable development and are committed to expanding innovation cooperation towards a digital future and green economy. |
