Gold price today (afternoon of June 1) recorded SJC gold continuing to anchor at a high level, trading at 115.7 - 118.2 million VND/tael (buy - sell).

As of the afternoon of June 1, SJC gold of Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC), DOJI Jewelry Group, and Bao Tin Minh Chau was simultaneously bought at 115.7 million VND/tael and sold at 118.2 million VND/tael, stable in both directions compared to yesterday.

Meanwhile, Phu Quy Jewelry Group bought SJC gold bars at 115 million VND/tael and sold at 118.2 million VND/tael, stable in both directions compared to yesterday.

PNJ brand gold rings in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City are being bought at 110.5 million VND/tael; sold at 113.6 million VND/tael, stable in both directions compared to yesterday.

Thus, in the past month (from May 1 to June 1), domestic gold prices continued to decrease but remained at a high level. Specifically, SJC gold decreased by 3.6 million VND/tael in buying price, from 119.3 million VND/tael to 115.7 million VND/tael; and decreased by 3.1 million VND/tael in selling price, from 121.3 million VND/tael to 118.2 million VND/tael.

On the international market, the world gold price on the morning of June 1 was trading at 3,288.3 USD/ounce, down 0.87%.

Despite the sharp drop, gold prices next week are still forecast by both analysts and investors to be optimistic and "recover what was lost last week", according to Kitco's survey results.

Specifically, in a survey on Wall Street, 14 analysts participated in the survey, of which 42% said that gold prices will continue to increase, 29% predicted that gold prices will decrease, and the remaining 29% said that gold prices will remain stable.

This week’s Main Street online survey saw a surge in investor participation. Of the 2,490 investors who participated, 56% said they expect gold prices to continue rising, 24% said they expect prices to fall, and 20% said they expect prices to stay the same.
