Gold price hits historic milestone, 19 million VND/tael higher than world price

On the morning of August 19, domestic gold prices remained stable, currently about 19.3 million VND/tael higher than world prices.

Opening, the business listed the price of SJC gold bars at 124 million VND/tael (buy) - 125 million VND/tael (sell), unchanged from the end of the previous day.

For gold rings, Phu Quy Group set the price at 116.6 million VND/tael (buy) - 119.6 million VND/tael (sell), down 200,000 VND/tael each way compared to the end of yesterday.

Meanwhile, Phu Nhuan Jewelry Joint Stock Company did not change the price, at 116.8 million VND/tael (buy) - 119.8 million VND/tael (sell).

Saigon Jewelry Company Limited listed the price at VND117 million/tael (buy) - VND119.5 million/tael (sell), unchanged from the end of the previous day.

Yesterday, the price of SJC gold bars increased by 500,000 VND/tael, reaching an all-time high of 124 million VND/tael (buy) - 125 million VND/tael (sell). The price of gold rings increased by 200,000 - 400,000 VND/tael.

In the international market, early this morning, August 19, the gold price was trading at 3,334 USD/ounce, down 21 USD compared to the peak in last night's trading session in the context of many central banks reducing purchases of this commodity and the USD price increasing sharply.

At 8:30 a.m., the gold price was trading at 3,336 USD/ounce, about 19.3 million VND/tael lower than the domestic gold price.

Thus, this difference increased by about 400,000 VND/tael compared to August 18.
