As of 9:00 a.m. on June 6 (Vietnam time), the world gold price decreased by 11.41 USD to 3,368.9 USD/ounce.
World gold prices fell sharply this morning after soaring to $3,404/ounce last night due to profit-taking pressure as investors took profits after gold prices reached their highest level in four weeks.
According to analysts from the World Gold Council (WGC), the fact that global gold investment funds sold more than 19 tons last May also caused a wave of sell-offs, putting pressure on gold prices.
The WGC warned that the current neutral monetary policy stance of the US Federal Reserve (FED) could be a headwind for gold this summer. However, experts also noted that the downside risk to gold prices could be mitigated by concerns about inflation and unsustainable debt levels.
WGC analysts predict that economic uncertainty, especially global trade tensions, will continue to support gold prices even as inflation risks increase.
This morning, the USD-Index increased slightly to 98.75 points; the yield on 10-year US Treasury bonds was at 4.387%; US stocks turned down after the debate between President Trump and Elon Musk; world oil prices decreased slightly, trading at 65.28 USD/barrel for Brent oil and 63.16 USD/barrel for WTI oil.
