World gold prices have fluctuated strongly in the context of the market in Vietnam being on a long holiday.

Gold prices under pressure to fall in the short term

This afternoon, April 30, the world gold price decreased by 46 USD/ounce, falling to 3,270.7 USD/ounce. At 8:00 p.m., the world gold price jumped to 3,300 USD/ounce.

Converted according to the exchange rate listed at the bank, the world gold price is equivalent to 104.2 million VND/tael.

After surpassing the threshold of 3,500 USD/ounce on April 22, the world gold price has decreased by more than 3% to 3,279.10 USD/ounce. In recent days, the world gold price has been constantly fluctuating around the threshold of 3,300 USD/ounce.

The strong fluctuation in gold prices reflects the cautious sentiment of investors while waiting for new developments in trade negotiations.

Besides, after increasing continuously for the past 3 months, gold has fallen into an "overbought" state, so gold prices are under pressure to decrease in the short term.

This week, investors will focus on US economic data such as the personal consumer price index, the first quarter gross domestic product report, followed by the April labor market report to be released at the end of the week.

These indicators are of interest as the first economic data after US President Donald Trump imposed tariffs on imported goods.

Domestically, today major gold companies such as SJC and PNJ are closed for the holiday. The selling price of SJC gold bars at SJC Company before the holiday was 121.3 million VND/tael, buying price was 119.3 million VND/tael.

The selling price of SJC gold rings at the end of yesterday was 116.5 million VND/tael, buying price was 114 million VND/tael.

The difference between buying and selling prices is 2 million VND/tael for SJC gold bars and 2.5 million VND/tael for gold rings.

At Bao Tin Minh Chau Company, the selling price of 9999 gold rings at the end of today was 119.9 million VND/tael, buying price was 116.9 million VND/tael.

Mi Hong gold shop listed the selling price of SJC gold bars at 120 million VND/tael, buying at 118 million VND/tael.

Compared to the converted world gold price, the price of SJC gold bars being sold on the market is 15.8 million VND/tael higher. This is a very high difference compared to normal times.
