The price of SJC gold bars was also increased by 3 million VND/tael each way, to 119 million VND/tael (buy) - 121 million VND/tael (sell).
Thus, the gold price has broken the old record of 120 million VND/tael recorded on April 18 to set a new record of 121 million VND/tael. Yesterday, the gold price also increased sharply, reaching 4 million VND/tael.
Domestic gold prices skyrocketed this morning due to the influence of the international market. Last night's trading session, the world price of precious metals "increased" by 1.4% to 3,373.70 USD/ounce; during the session, the price of gold reached a record 3,385.08 USD/ounce.
Gold prices increased sharply due to the continued increase in investor demand to preserve capital and avoid risks from other markets. At nearly 9am, the gold price was trading at 3,450 USD/ounce, converted to be lower than the domestic gold price by more than 12 million VND/tael.
In addition, high demand for gold in the domestic market but insufficient supply also causes the price of this precious metal to increase.
In the domestic market, businesses sell very limited amounts of gold, sometimes there is no gold left to sell because for many years, businesses have not been allowed to import raw gold to produce gold bars and gold rings.
