According to Colonel, journalist Do Phu Tho, Editor-in-Chief of Vietnam Veterans Newspaper, the contest is an opportunity to express deep gratitude and practical actions to contribute to spreading Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style in the new era to widely propagate revolutionary traditions, honor exemplary veterans in the "Exemplary Veterans" movement, and practically celebrate the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).

Emphasizing the examples of good people, good deeds, and typical advances among veterans, Mr. Do Phu Tho said that veterans are those who have gone through the war, returned to normal life, silently shining the spirit of the August Revolution, the spirit of the Great Victory of Spring 1975. Veterans are also those who actively participate in local movements, passing on revolutionary enthusiasm to the younger generation, crossing streams and climbing passes to find the remains of their comrades. Veterans are also businessmen who return from the battlefield to the market, striving to overcome difficulties and hardships to solve employment and social security for society, contributing to the state budget... Veterans will be the material in articles in all regions of the country.

The contest organizers will accept entries from May 9 to August 15, 2025 (based on the postmark or email time). Entries should be sent by post to the Vietnam Veterans Newspaper, 34 Ly Nam De, Hanoi or sent as a word file to the email address: [email protected]

Entries are articles written by individuals or groups of authors. The work has not been published in newspapers, submitted to competitions or awarded in other competitions. Each author or group of authors can submit multiple entries.

The content of the article focuses on introducing typical advanced collectives and individuals, good people and good deeds; new, typical and outstanding factors (real people, real deeds) in carrying out the tasks of the Vietnam Veterans Association and contributing to building a comprehensively strong Association, especially veterans who participated in the general offensive and uprising in the spring of 1975, now becoming good businessmen, farmers, and intellectuals in the patriotic emulation movement "Exemplary Veterans".

The article also reflects good experiences, new and creative ways of doing things, achieving high efficiency, making positive contributions to improving the quality of the Association's work and the socio-economic development of the locality and the country.

The expected prize structure includes 1 A prize of 10 million VND; 5 B prizes of 7 million VND/prize; 10 C prizes of 5 million VND/prize; 20 consolation prizes of 2 million VND/prize; 10 Certificates of Merit for outstanding groups. Works published in the Vietnam Veterans Newspaper will be paid royalties according to regulations.
