Gasoline prices drop across the board, RON95-III price drops to 21,310 VND

From 3:00 p.m. on August 22, the price of E5 RON92 gasoline decreased by 458 VND/liter; RON95-III gasoline decreased by 535 VND/liter. Next, diesel oil decreased by 454 VND/liter; kerosene decreased by 423 VND/liter and fuel oil decreased by 489 VND/kg.

Prices of domestic petroleum products fell across the board in today's operating period (August 22).

According to the joint decision of the Ministry of Industry and Trade - Ministry of Finance, from 3:00 p.m., the price of E5 RON92 gasoline decreased by 458 VND, down to 20,424 VND/liter; RON95-III gasoline decreased by 535 VND/liter, the new price is 21,317 VND/liter; diesel oil decreased by 454 VND/liter, down to 18,776 VND/liter. In addition, kerosene decreased by 423 VND, the new price is 19,149 VND/liter and mazut oil decreased by 489 VND, down to 15,756 VND/kg.

During this operating period, the joint ministries continue not to set aside or use the Price Stabilization Fund for petroleum products.

A representative of the Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex) said that as of the time before the price adjustment, the balance of the price stabilization fund (BOG) at the enterprise was 3,079 billion VND, unchanged from the announcement last week.

Most recently (August 15), E5 RON92 gasoline increased by 167 VND/liter; RON95-III gasoline increased by 179 VND/liter; diesel increased by 89 VND/liter; kerosene increased by 161 VND/liter, and mazut increased by 217 VND/kg.

According to Decree No. 80/2023/ND-CP amending and supplementing a number of articles of Decree No. 95/2021/ND-CP dated November 1, 2021 and Decree No. 83/2014/ND-CP dated September 3, 2014 of the Government on petroleum trading, the time for managing petroleum prices will be shortened from 10 days to 7 days, implemented every Thursday.

In case the price management period coincides with a holiday according to regulations, it will be implemented as follows: If Thursday coincides with the first day of the holiday, the petrol price management period will be implemented on the previous Wednesday. If Thursday coincides with the remaining holidays, the petrol price management period will be implemented on the first working day after the holiday./.
