Gasoline prices drop across the board, RON95-III price drops to 21,310 VND

From 3:00 p.m. on August 22, the price of E5 RON92 gasoline decreased by VND458/liter; RON95-III gasoline decreased by VND535/liter. Next, diesel oil decreased by VND454/liter; kerosene decreased by VND423/liter and fuel oil decreased by VND489/kg.

Prices of domestic petroleum products fell across the board in today's management period (August 22).

According to the decision of the Ministry of Industry and Trade - Ministry of Finance, from 3:00 p.m., the price of E5 RON92 gasoline decreased by 458 VND, down to 20,424 VND/liter; RON95-III gasoline decreased by 535 VND/liter, the new price is 21,317 VND/liter; diesel decreased by 454 VND/liter, down to 18,776 VND/liter. In addition, kerosene decreased by 423 VND, the new price is 19,149 VND/liter and fuel oil decreased by 489 VND, down to 15,756 VND/kg.

During this management period, the joint ministries continued not to set aside or use the Price Stabilization Fund for petroleum products.

A representative of the Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex) said that as of the time before the price adjustment, the balance of the price stabilization fund (BOG) at the enterprise was 3,079 billion VND, unchanged from the announcement period last week.

Most recently (August 15), E5 RON92 gasoline increased by 167 VND/liter; RON95-III gasoline increased by 179 VND/liter; diesel increased by 89 VND/liter; kerosene added 161 VND/liter, and fuel oil increased by 217 VND/kg.

According to Decree No. 80/2023/ND-CP amending and supplementing a number of articles of Decree No. 95/2021/ND-CP dated November 1, 2021 and Decree No. 83/2014/ND-CP dated September 3, 2014 of the Government on petroleum trading, the period of petroleum price management will be shortened from 10 days to 7 days, implemented every Thursday.

In case the price management period coincides with a holiday according to regulations, it will be implemented as follows: If Thursday coincides with the first day of the holiday, the petrol price management period will be implemented on the previous Wednesday. If Thursday coincides with the remaining holidays, the petrol price management period will be implemented on the first working day after the holiday./.
