Gasoline price today November 15: Continues to recover slightly

VTC NewsVTC News15/11/2024

World oil prices

At 6:00 a.m. on November 15, WTI oil price increased by 0.08 SD, equivalent to 0.12%, to 68.62 USD/barrel. Brent oil price increased by 0.28 USD, equivalent to 0.39%, to 75.56 USD/barrel.

Oil prices edged up as a sharp drop in U.S. fuel inventories outweighed concerns about oversupply and demand concerns stemming from a stronger dollar.

The US Energy Information Administration said that in the week ending November 8, US gasoline inventories fell 4.4 million barrels to 206.9 million barrels - the lowest level since November 2022.

The gasoline drawdown was in stark contrast to analysts' expectations for a 600,000-barrel build. Distillate stocks, which include diesel and heating oil, fell by 1.4 million barrels.

US gasoline prices rose 0.8%, while heating oil prices fell about 0.3% after a brief spike triggered by the data, Reuters reported.

Limiting oil prices' gains was data showing US oil inventories rose by 2.1 million barrels, 2.8 times the 750,000-barrel increase expected by analysts.

Oil prices are struggling to find equilibrium as the rising dollar index adds to the headwinds, said Dennis Kissler, senior vice president of trading at BOK Financial. In addition, the Trump administration’s control of Congress is likely to reverse much of the Biden administration’s energy policies.

Domestic gasoline prices

In the operating period on November 14, the price of E5 RON92 gasoline decreased by 292 VND/liter, not higher than 19,452 VND/liter. The price of RON95 gasoline decreased by 247 VND/liter, not higher than 20,607 VND/liter.

Prices of all types of oil also decreased simultaneously. Of which, diesel price decreased by 344 VND/liter, not higher than 18,573 VND/liter. Kerosene price decreased by 306 VND/liter, not higher than 18,988 VND/liter and fuel oil price decreased by 385 VND/kg, not higher than 16,009 VND/kg.

In this management period, the Ministry of Industry and Trade - Ministry of Finance continued not to set aside or use the petrol price stabilization fund for any products.
