Hoa Binh Provincial Press Awards: "Warming up" enthusiasm, encouraging journalists to commit and contribute

In the past 3 years, the Hoa Binh Provincial Journalists Association has continuously received good news when its members were consecutively honored at the National Press Awards, the National Press Awards for writing about Party building (Golden Hammer and Sickle), the National Press Awards for the National Assembly - People's Council (Dien Hong Award), the National Radio - Television Festival and a number of press awards and competitions launched by central ministries and branches. That success was created by many factors, including the "push" from the Hoa Binh Provincial Press Awards.

Television reporters of Hoa Binh Newspaper recorded images of landslides caused by natural disasters in the province.

With the desire to encourage and honor authors and groups of authors with high-quality press works promoting all political , economic, cultural and social fields of the province, promoting the image of the land and people of Hoa Binh to all directions, at the end of 2020, the Provincial Journalists Association proposed to upgrade the Provincial Journalists Association's Press Award to the Provincial Press Award. Accordingly, in January 2021, the Provincial People's Committee issued Plan No. 17/KH-UBND on "Organizing the Hoa Binh Provincial Press Award for the period 2021-2025". Up to now, the Hoa Binh Provincial Press Award has gone through 5 seasons, with the quality of each year higher than the previous year.

Journalist Tong Thi Kim Thanh (Hoa Binh Newspaper), one of the reporters who won many high prizes in provincial-level journalism competitions and awards and was named in the National Journalism Awards, Dien Hong Awards, and the National Radio and Television Festival, shared: "It can be said that since the Provincial Journalism Awards were organized, it has created a great source of encouragement and motivation for journalists to constantly work creatively, dedicate themselves, and contribute. Thereby, building high-quality journalistic works to serve the public and being honored in awards from the provincial to the central level."

Hoa Binh journalists always strive to fulfill their roles and missions well, so when they have more encouragement from the Provincial Press Awards, reporters and editors invest more in and polish their works, thereby creating high-quality press works. Recalling the first season - Hoa Binh Provincial Press Awards 2020, because it was new, the preparation work was quite urgent. Because it was not launched in advance, that season, the Organizing Committee only received 96 entries, no press photos. Through 2 rounds of preliminary and final judging, the Organizing Committee selected 27 high-quality works to award prizes (no A prize). The award ceremony was also organized quite specially (to ensure social distancing to prevent and combat the Covid-19 epidemic), both the award givers and recipients wore masks.

By the second season - Hoa Binh Provincial Press Awards 2021, there was a clear difference. The award was launched in June 2021, attracting professional and non-professional journalists to actively participate. As a result, the Organizing Committee received 109 works from 48 authors, including print, television, radio, and photojournalism genres. The entries were basically quite elaborately invested, creative, and had an attractive style of expression, creating richness in journalistic activities. At the same time, they met the requirements of timeliness, authenticity, discovery, objectivity, high social impact, and fulfilled the role of information orientation in modern journalism. The Organizing Committee selected 23 high-quality works to award prizes, including 3 A prizes, 4 B prizes, 6 C prizes, and 10 consolation prizes. In particular, the A prize was awarded to works such as: "Tightening land management, solving land bottlenecks to attract investment", "Warning about mutant orchids - Billion-dollar scams", "Religion with life".

Season 3 - Hoa Binh Press Award 2022, the Organizing Committee received 110 works from over 48 authors. The works were all invested quite elaborately, with creative exploration, attractive and easy-to-feel expression style. Prize A named impressive works, with topicality, authenticity, discovery, representativeness and high social impact such as: "Solving the problem of improving livelihoods for people in the Hoa Binh hydroelectric reservoir area", "Flowers of the mountain".

The fourth season - Hoa Binh Provincial Press Awards 2023 is more refined, rich in genres and topics. Typical works include: "Around the project of building headquarters and spiritual cultural works that have been "suspended" for many years", "Flowers on the misty mountain top", "Mai Chau district with good practices in building cultural houses".

The 5th season - Hoa Binh Provincial Press Awards 2024 took place very excitingly. The works were invested elaborately, carefully and were duly recognized. Accordingly, the highest award belonged to works that closely followed the flow of events, quickly reflecting issues of interest to readers such as: "From Hoa Binh to Dien Bien Phu", "Hoa Binh Lake at risk of plastic waste and hazardous waste pollution", "A warm home in hand - Full of happiness" ... Although there were many influencing factors, it must be clearly recognized that: Hoa Binh Provincial Press Awards created great momentum for "soldiers on the ideological and cultural front" and achieved proud "achievements".
