BSG DRAGON CUP 2025 NATIONAL 7-A-SIDE FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT STARTS ON THE LARGEST SCALE EVER

This is the fourth consecutive year that SABECO, through its Saigon Beer brand, has accompanied VPL as a strategic partner. This partnership not only contributes to enhancing the image, scale and reputation of the tournament, but also clearly demonstrates SABECO's commitment to spreading an active lifestyle, promoting community cohesion and arousing national pride through sports.

From the 2022 season, with the support and cooperation of SABECO, VPL has gradually improved in terms of image, scale, reputation and influence: From 3 to 5 regions. The number of sponsors has also increased gradually each year and by 2024, more than 100 large and small units have joined, with more than 200,000 spectators at the stadium and more than 45 million live views through platforms. These impressive numbers partly demonstrate the increasing attraction and reputation of the tournament in the football-loving community.

This year, the tournament will officially start from May 18th simultaneously in 8 regions nationwide including: Northern region ( Hanoi ); Southern region (Ho Chi Minh City); Central Highlands region (Gia Lai); Western region (Can Tho); Northeast region (Hai Phong); North Central region (Nghe An); Central region (Da Nang) and South Central region (Khanh Hoa). The strongest teams of the region will compete at the big festival National Final Round taking place in Hanoi at the end of July.

It is expected that a total of 60 teams will compete in 248 matches, an increase of nearly 100 matches compared to the 2024 season. This is a clear demonstration of the development and professionalization of the tournament system over time, affirming the position of the largest 7-a-side football tournament ever, receiving the support of the organization policy from the Department of Physical Training and Sports (Ministry of Culture - Sports - Tourism).

In particular, this year's tournament marks the first time a special showmatch has been held, where the best faces of the 7-a-side tournament have the opportunity to compete alongside professional football stars, national and former Vietnamese players, thereby inspiring and fueling the passion of the younger generation. This will be one of the important activities to help VPL promote its role as a meaningful spiritual food for football fans and, moreover, a festival with widespread influence.

In addition, also this year, SABECO and VietFootball will continue to write the story of spreading and elevating Vietnam's unique football to the regional scale through the 3rd season of the International 7-a-side tournament scheduled to be held in August with the participation of representatives from the region and continent including Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia...
