Many high voltage power projects are being accelerated and will soon be put into use.

Speed ​​up key project progress

One of the major projects is the Gia Loc 220 kV transmission line and transformer station invested by the National Power Transmission Corporation with a total cost of more than 494 billion VND. The transformer station is built in Gia Phuc commune (Gia Loc). The 220 kV connecting line passes through Gia Phuc commune (Gia Loc district) and Gia Xuyen commune ( Hai Duong city) .

The transformer station is designed with control, protection, measurement, communication systems... according to the standards of Vietnam Electricity Group. The station scale includes 3 transformers with a total capacity of 750 MVA. In the first phase, 2 transformers with a capacity of 500 MVA will be installed.

At this time, at the construction site, construction teams are urgently completing the foundation and installing equipment with the determination to bring the project to the finish line on schedule. Mr. Ngo Van Thu, project manager, representative of Song Da Construction and Service Joint Stock Company said: "We worked through the recent holiday to speed up the progress while still ensuring the quality of the project. The goal is to complete before June 30."

As of May 6, the project has completed more than 80% of the work. The interior of the transformer station has been basically completed, preparing for equipment installation. The line has completed 12/14 anchorage sections, the remaining 2 sections are stuck in the ground. Of which, 1 section is pulling the wire across the Hanoi - Hai Phong expressway and 1 section in Gia Phuc commune.

Once completed, the project will ensure stable power supply for many new industrial parks and clusters in Gia Loc, Thanh Mien, Binh Giang, Cam Giang districts and Hai Duong city. “The project is expected to be completed in the second quarter, but thanks to the accelerated progress, the project will be put into operation earlier than planned,” said Mr. Le Tam Huy, representative of the project management board.

Another important project is the Hung Thai 110kV transmission line and transformer station (Ninh Giang), invested by the Northern Power Corporation, which was completed and energized in early March 2025. The project has a total investment of more than 148 billion VND, including a 110 kV double-circuit transmission line and a 110 kV transformer station with 2 transformers with a total capacity of 80 MVA. In the first phase, a 40 MVA transformer was installed.

The station is designed according to remote control station standards, meeting the rapidly increasing load demand in Ninh Giang and neighboring areas, in accordance with the province's power development plan approved by the Ministry of Industry and Trade .

Hai Duong City Electricity has just completed and energized Truong Chinh transformer station in Tan Binh ward. The station uses a 560 kVA transformer, supplying power to about 220 customers, and at the same time helping to share the load with neighboring stations such as Binh Lau 1A, Binh Lau 4, Do Hanh... The project is part of Hai Duong City's 2025 overload prevention project.

In 2025, Hai Duong City Electricity will implement 3 projects to build and renovate the medium and low voltage power grid in the eastern, western and southern areas of the city, with a total of 14 overload-preventing transformer stations, expected to be completed and energized in June and July.

Hai Duong Electricity One Member Co., Ltd. will invest more than VND774 billion to implement 38 grid construction and renovation projects in 2025. Of these, 4 are 110kV grid projects, 21 are overload and low-voltage projects, and 13 are medium-voltage line projects. In addition, 5 projects to install capacitor banks at 110kV stations will also be implemented to stabilize power supply and reduce power loss.

Mr. Le Hong Thanh, Deputy Director of Hai Duong Electricity One Member Co., Ltd., said that in recent years, the company has focused on investing in renovating and upgrading the power grid to promptly meet the increasing load demand. Contractors are required to concentrate their human resources and take advantage of construction time, especially before the hot season.

Many contractors working on electrical projects have worked "3 shifts, 4 shifts, through holidays and Tet, through the sun and rain" to speed up progress.

According to forecasts, electricity consumption in the province in 2025 will increase by over 10%, especially during peak hot weather, it may increase dramatically. Accelerating the progress of power projects will not only help ensure stable power supply but also create a solid foundation for socio-economic development, serving well the production needs and lives of people in the province.
