Thai Son Bac and Hanoi draw on opening day of 2023 HDBank National Futsal Championship

The first round of the 2023 HDBank National Futsal Championship officially kicked off with two matches taking place on the afternoon of March 19.

The capital derby at My Dinh Athletics Stadium ( Hanoi ) between Thai Son Bac Club and newcomer Hanoi was dramatic and exciting as both teams aimed to win on the opening day to create momentum for the championship race.

The match between the two Northern teams ended in a draw. Despite having many veteran players and deploying a sharp attacking strategy, Thai Son Bac was not yet proficient in finishing. Not only did the home team attack effectively, but they were also unexpectedly let their opponents take the lead twice.

Courage and rich experience helped Thai Son Bac successfully chase the spectacular score and regain 1 valuable point on the opening day of the new season. Coach Acosta Garcia's team had a bad start in the 2023 HDBank National Futsal Championship despite being considered one of the candidates for the championship this season.

Sanvinest Khanh Hoa (blue shirt) won easily on the opening day of the new season.

Taking place later the same day, Sanvinest Khanh Hoa took advantage of home field advantage and competition experience to defeat rookie GFDI Song Han with a score of 3-0.

The 2023 season is the first time the National Futsal Championship will be played on a home-away basis. This has made the stands of the Nha Trang Central Pedagogical College Gymnasium packed with spectators, adding spiritual strength to the team of new coach Nguyen Quoc Dan.

This victory helped the former Vietnamese futsal champion temporarily lead the table after the early matches of round 1. The tournament will continue on March 20 with the remaining two matches of the opening round. At 2 p.m., defending champion Sahako will travel to Thai Son Nam Stadium (HCMC) to face Cao Bang and Thai Son Nam Club will welcome Tan Hiep Hung at the same venue at 5 p.m.
