In the 2024-2025 school year, Nguyen Duy Thi High School (Binh Xuyen) has 226 grade 12 students participating in the high school graduation exam. In order to review the exam for grade 12 students most effectively, the school has adjusted the extra teaching plan in accordance with the spirit of Circular No. 29 of the Ministry of Education and Training regulating extra teaching and learning.
Mr. Tran Thanh Tung, Principal of the school, said: The school has directed teachers to promote their capacity and experience, and strive to implement solutions to improve teaching and review effectiveness for students; at the same time, encourage the teaching staff to improve their volunteer spirit to help students in reviewing for the high school graduation exam.
Implementing Circular No. 29, the school has researched, adjusted, and arranged free extra classes of 2 periods/subject/week for 12th grade students. For students with weak academic performance, they are screened through a mock exam, thereby scheduling free tutoring classes.
At the same time, the subject groups are required to adjust the graduation exam review plan specifically and in detail, closely following the key content, building a bank of exercise types according to the topics, themes and the introduction questions of the Ministry of Education and Training, suitable for the exam review time according to the new regulations; instructing students to practice many types of exam questions such as high school graduation exam questions from previous years, survey questions from provinces and cities, etc., thereby helping students review knowledge and practice test-taking skills.
In addition, the school requires teachers of graduation exam subjects to send homework, test questions, and suggested content for students to complete at home to enhance students' self-study habits and skills...
Ms. Bui Thi Tuyet, Physics teacher at Nguyen Duy Thi High School, said: "To ensure knowledge for grade 12 students to take the high school graduation exam, subject teachers have proactively taught, reviewed, systematized basic knowledge and guided methods and ways to do the test, helping students grasp the knowledge firmly, be more confident in reviewing and taking the test; assigned homework, review questions for each subject and required students to do it seriously."
Binh Son High School (Song Lo) has 346 grade 12 students. Strictly implementing Circular No. 29 under the guidance of the Department of Education and Training, the school has arranged teachers with experience in teaching grade 12 to support students; organizing free review sessions for students.
Mr. Ha Thai Binh, Principal of the school, said: The high school graduation exam according to the 2018 GeneralEducation Program has the advantage of only testing 4 subjects, less than previous years. However, this is the first graduation exam to be conducted according to the 2018 General Education Program, teaching and testing are oriented towards developing students' qualities and abilities. The exam questions are not based on textbooks but on the core of the program.
To proactively review for grade 12 students, the school has proactively developed a plan; assigned teachers to participate in the review; arranged free classes in the afternoon. After the Ministry of Education and Training announced the reference exam questions for the 2025 graduation exam, the school directed professional groups and teams to study the exam structure, adjust the graduation exam review teaching plan accordingly; and increase new types of questions and exercises according to the exam structure.
Along with that, knowledge survey activities and mock tests in the format of reference test questions are also carried out by teachers to adjust teaching methods and requirements for students.
Up to this point, high schools in the province have developed teaching and review plans for grade 12 students in accordance with the new regulations in Circular No. 29, in which the role and responsibility of the teaching staff are highlighted, considering this an important factor to ensure teaching quality.
