Nguyen Tuan Anh closes in on the top spot after round 2.

The second day of the 2025 Vietnam Open Amateur Men's/Women's Championship (VAO/VLAO) brought many unexpected developments at Dalat Palace Golf Club. The rankings kept changing and the best faces officially passed the cut to enter the decisive race.

At VAO, the highlight of the second day belonged to Nguyen Tuan Anh - who had an impressive acceleration with a bogey-free round, scoring 68 strokes (-4). Starting from hole 10, the 2009-born talent had a perfect start with 2 birdies at holes 12 and 14, before continuing to play brilliantly with 2 more consecutive birdies at holes 5 and 6.

This impressive performance brought Tuan Anh to 2nd place on the rankings with a total score of (-4), creating an exciting chase for the championship title.

Meanwhile, Nguyen Trong Hoang - the leader after round 1 - continued to maintain his stable performance in round 2. Despite a rough start with 3 bogeys at holes 12, 14 and 8, the young phenomenon born in 2010 proved his mettle by scoring 4 birdies to end the day with a score of (-1). Trong Hoang continued to hold the top spot after 2 days of competition with a total score of (-6).

Third place now belongs to Ho Anh Huy with a total score (+4), while the next two positions are Le Khanh Hung (+5) and Patcharapon Wathanadilokkul (+6).

Nguyen Trong Hoang maintained his top position after 2 days of competition.

In the women's category (VLAO), Thai athletes have begun to assert their dominance. Marisa Tojal has taken the lead with a total score of +5, with the second round having 4 birdies, 2 bogeys and 1 quadruple bogey. Following closely behind is compatriot Namo Luangnitikul with a score of +4.

Meanwhile, the home team's hope Le Chuc An had an unexpected day when he made 8 bogeys, dropping to 3rd place with a total score (+9) after 2 rounds. The next two positions in the top 5 belong to Nguyen Vu Hoang Anh (+10) and Anna Le (+11).

After 36 official holes, the VAO tournament has determined the 52 male athletes with the best results, winning the right to move on to the final two rounds of the tournament. Meanwhile, at VLAO, all female athletes will continue to compete in the final round taking place tomorrow (June 13).
