On the morning of June 15, the VnExpress Marathon Quy Nhon 2025 officially ended with an impressive victory by Kenyan athlete Victor Kipkemei Chepkwony in the men's 42km race. With a time of 2 hours 29 minutes 48 seconds, Victor not only won the championship, but also set a new milestone for this year's Quy Nhon race.
This was Victor’s first time participating in a marathon in Quy Nhon. In the first half of the journey, he ran side by side with athlete Huynh Anh Khoi. However, from about km 21 – right after the downhill section of Thi Nai bridge – Victor began to accelerate strongly and create a safe distance. With a steady pace, “wind-breaking” speed and outstanding competitive spirit, he crossed the finish line first amid the enthusiastic cheers of thousands of spectators, leaving the second place finisher more than 6 minutes behind.
Notably, Victor completed the entire race in a pair of… running sandals – GOYA Photon Full Carbon – from the Vietnamese sports footwear brand.
