According to the report of Hai Phong Urban Environment Company Limited, thanks to the good implementation of propaganda work, raising awareness of classifying domestic solid waste at source as well as classifying domestic solid waste at source, the classification of domestic solid waste at source in the city has been well implemented. Up to now, all markets, restaurants, hotels, agencies, schools, and religious establishments have classified waste. The number of households classifying waste as well as the volume and quality of waste after classification have been getting better day by day. Up to now, in the districts of Hong Bang, Ngo Quyen, Le Chan, Hai An, and An Duong, about 80% of households classify daily domestic solid waste. All waste after classification is collected separately by the company using 3-compartment vehicles, transported by type, and processed and recycled within the day.

The monitoring team surveyed a number of waste collection points in Ngo Quyen district.

At the meeting, the Company proposed that the city continue to pay attention to investing and upgrading more equipment and machinery for the factory at Trang Cat Waste Treatment Area to ensure the reception and treatment of organic and recyclable waste that has been sorted at source from districts in the city; allow the suspension of receiving domestic waste at Dinh Vu Treatment Area, and at the same time carry out the renovation and closure of the landfill to ensure environmental safety for the landfill before the rainy season; pay attention to directing departments and localities to take appropriate and timely management measures in the management of sorting domestic solid waste at source, bringing the waste reception capacity of Gia Minh Waste Treatment Area to its design capacity, ensuring waste treatment, security and safety in the city.

After conducting a field survey at some garbage collection points in Ngo Quyen district and listening to the report of the Company, Comrade Pham Van Khanh, Head of the Urban Committee of the City People's Council, acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts and innovations of Hai Phong Urban Environment Company Limited in propagating and mobilizing people to classify solid waste at source; collecting and treating garbage. Sharing the current difficulties and obstacles of the Company, especially regarding garbage treatment technology and low awareness of some people, he suggested that the Company continue to do a good job of propagating and mobilizing people; focusing on garbage collection in some areas with difficult treatment locations; clarifying the effectiveness of recycling and treating garbage in the direction of green economy and circular economy.

The monitoring delegation recorded the opinions, proposals and recommendations of the Company to synthesize into a general report submitted to the City People's Council as well as send recommendations to authorities at all levels to coordinate in handling and resolving the situation of garbage and solid waste in the area./.
