The inspection team includes representatives of leaders of departments, branches, localities and related units.
The working group inspected the following projects: Thuong Dong Pumping Station (K11+400 on the left of Hoa dike); Dong Ngu Sluice (under construction at K44+707 on the right of Luoc dike, Vinh Bao district); Giang Khau Critical Sluice (K0+100 on the right of Mia River dike, Tien Lang district); Mo Han Embankment (K14+500, Do Son district); Flood and storm prevention material storage warehouse (K0+000 on the sea dike 1, Duong Kinh district); and Ba Tong Pumping Station (Le Chan district).
After the inspection, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Duc Tho emphasized: In the face of increasingly extreme and unpredictable weather, especially in the upcoming rainy and stormy season, localities and units need to focus on natural disaster prevention and control, proactively develop plans according to the "4 on-site" motto. In particular, it is necessary to check and replace pump equipment to ensure readiness for effective operation, comprehensively check the canal system, culverts, closely monitor the weather situation and promptly handle arising problems.
For the Mo Han embankment project (Do Son district), the Vice Chairman requested the construction unit to mobilize maximum means and human resources, striving to complete 2 wave-reducing wings on the sea side of embankment No. 2 before June 15. At the Dong Ngu sluice project, it is necessary to speed up the construction progress in the final stage, to complete it in June; in the immediate future, urgently clear the flow, remove the green belt and sheet piles to proactively drain water in heavy rain conditions. For the Giang Khau sluice, Tien Lang Irrigation Works Exploitation Company Limited needs to immediately arrange reserve sandbags in the sluice area to be ready to respond when natural disasters occur.
The Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee also assigned localities and irrigation companies to coordinate with the Department of Water Resources Management and Disaster Prevention (Department of Agriculture and Rural Development) to strengthen inspection, clear weeds, bushes, and clean up waste on the dykes; at the same time, inspect the preparation of materials and spare equipment in localities according to the approved plan.
According to the report of the Hai Phong Traffic and Agricultural Construction Investment Project Management Board, up to now, the Dong Ngu culvert project has completed more than 80% of the volume, striving to complete the entire project in the third quarter of 2025. For the Mo Han embankment system of sea dike 1, Do Son district - part of Component Project No. 1 approved by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in Decision No. 4979/QD-BNN-PCTT dated December 22, 2022 - has currently completed more than 70% of the volume, striving to complete the entire project in the third quarter of 2025.
