There are many ways to bring cultural heritage conservation activities into schools such as: integrating heritage education content into subjects (Literature, History, Geography, Music); organizing extracurricular activities, after-school programs, collective activities... Thereby, students have the opportunity to go, learn, experience, and discuss the values of the province's heritage.

Students visit and learn at the Buon Ma Thuot Prison National Special Monument.

Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Thuy, a Literature teacher at Phan Chu Trinh Secondary School (Buon Ma Thuot Ward) shared that cultural heritage is a part of cultural identity. The Literature program plays a role in helping students become aware of the origin and identity of the nation, contributing to preserving and developing Vietnamese cultural values. Through exposure to the unique artistic values of heritage, students have the opportunity to develop their ability to appreciate beauty, enrich their spiritual life as well as develop their aesthetic ability and literary appreciation. To achieve that goal, she and the teachers in the school have researched, studied, and studied documents and materials to have a rich source of learning materials on the cultural heritage of the Central Highlands; built programs and integrated lessons suitable for each subject and educational activity (competition to learn about the theme of traditional culture, Central Highlands heritage; scientific research activities, etc.).

The introduction of heritage conservation activities into schools is also carried out in a way that is appropriate to the age of the students. Y Jut Primary School (Tan Lap Ward) has organized extracurricular activities combined with visits to the province's cultural heritages (the special national historical site of Buon Ma Thuot Prison; visits and experiences at Ko Tam Tourist Area...); built an educational topic on "Central Highlands Gong Cultural Space" in the 4th grade curriculum; organized for students to participate in cultural and artistic activities organized by the education sector and localities...

Ms. H'Non Knul, a teacher at Y Jut Primary School, said that the education on cultural heritage preservation for students should be carried out as early as possible. For primary school students, familiarization, learning combined with visual education for memorization is very effective. Images of traditional education will be deeply ingrained in students' memories; when they grow up, they can rely on those foundations to develop and orient themselves on how to maintain and preserve the cultural identity of their nation in their family and community...

According to the assessment of the education sector, most managers and teachers at all levels are clearly aware of the role and significance of exploiting cultural heritage values in educational activities at schools, bringing many positive effects; both valuable in the method of teaching general knowledge according to the program's regulations, and raising students' awareness and responsibility for heritage.

Students of Le Duan High School (Thanh Nhat Ward) participate in STEM activities on developing traditional weaving profession at STEM Festival 2024.

In the high school literature program, there are many interesting literary works that can incorporate educational content on conservation and promotion of heritage values into each lesson, such as: "M'tao Mxay Victory", "Xa Nu Forest", "The Boat Out at Sea"... According to Ms. Thai Thi Luong, a teacher at N'Trang Long Boarding Ethnic High School (Thanh Nhat Ward), during the teaching process, students will learn about heritages related to the lesson to understand the context of the composition, the context of the work described or visualize the space and time in the works to understand the lesson more deeply. Thereby, students will gradually form ideas and thoughts about actions and ways to protect heritage in life.

According to Dr. Do Tuong Hiep, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training, heritage conservation education is one of the important contents in the General Education Program, contributing to improving the quality of education in each school. In the coming time, the education sector will continue to coordinate with relevant sectors and units to improve the capacity of teachers; organize tours and practical experience activities at heritage sites in the province so that students can better understand ethnic and local cultures, etc.
