Professor, Doctor Vo Tong Xuan passed away

On the morning of August 19, Dr. Tran Huu Xinh, Vice Principal of Nam Can Tho University, said: Professor, Dr. Vo Tong Xuan, Honorary Principal of the school, passed away at around 7:30 this morning in Ho Chi Minh City after a period of serious illness.

People's Teacher, Professor, Doctor Vo Tong Xuan is a leading expert with many contributions in the field of agriculture in Vietnam and internationally. He is a Vietnamese agricultural expert supporting food security issues for countries in the ASEAN region.

Professor Vo Tong Xuan was born in 1940 in An Giang province. During his career, the Professor held many important positions such as: Vice Principal of Can Tho University, Principal of An Giang University, Nam Can Tho University...

Hero of Labor, Professor Vo Tong Xuan was awarded the "Order of the Rising Sun - Golden Rays and Neck Ribbon" by the Japanese Government for his great contributions over the years in many fields.

He is also a Vietnamese scientist who has received many major domestic and international awards and prizes, especially the VinFuture Prize in 2023.

Professor's funeral was held at Ho Chi Minh City Funeral Home.
