After the Lunar New Year holiday, thousands of people from provinces and cities flocked to Ho Chi Minh City to start the first working day of the year. On the gateway roads of the city, although the number of vehicles was quite high, traffic flow was fast and smooth.
February 2 (the 5th day of Tet) is the last day of the Lunar New Year 2025. According to records, people returned to the city crowdedly at bus stations, train stations, airports and traveled by personal vehicles. However, unlike the traffic congestion and jams that lasted for a long time before Tet, the traffic situation at the gateways of Ho Chi Minh City today is quite clear and favorable.
At An Phu intersection (Thu Duc City), even during rush hour, traffic is still smooth.
The road leading to the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay highway is very deserted, while on the way back to Ho Chi Minh City, traffic is heavier but flows normally.
The routes leading to Cat Lai port such as Nguyen Thi Dinh, Dong Van Cong, Vo Chi Cong... are deserted, not a single container truck passing by.
Similarly, at Binh Thuan overpass (Binh Chanh district), the road is spacious and there is little traffic.
On the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong highway (from the toll station to Vo Tran Chi intersection) is also clear.
However, at the western gateway, vehicles such as buses, trucks, cars, and motorbikes line up, inching their way on the road.
At Tan Tuc gateway (Bui Thanh Khiet - Le Kha Phieu, National Highway 1), motorbikes line up, carrying a lot of belongings and gifts from the countryside to bring to the city.
On the back seat, many people carry suitcases full of clothes, foam boxes containing food, candy, fruit, etc. This is a familiar image after every spring.
Vehicles lined up waiting for the traffic lights.
Although quite tired with the long journey, when nearing the end, everyone was happy and excited.
On Le Kha Phieu - Nguyen Huu Tri and Le Kha Phieu - Hung Nhon streets (Binh Chanh district), the later it gets, the more crowded the traffic becomes.
Motorbikes and cars line up neatly on the road. Rarely do they climb onto the sidewalk to move.
Traffic police are present at intersections and gateways to Ho Chi Minh City to regulate traffic and ensure people return to the city safely and smoothly.
