Australian officials appreciate the development of Vietnam-Australia relations - Lang Son Electronic Newspaper

In an interview with Ambassador Pham Hung Tam, he highly appreciated the rapid development of Vietnam-Australia cooperation, especially since the two countries upgraded their relationship to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

On July 3-4, Vietnamese Ambassador to Australia Pham Hung Tam paid an official visit to New South Wales (NSW), paying courtesy calls to Governor Margaret Beazley, Speaker of the State House of Representatives Greg Piper, Deputy Leader of the Opposition in the New South Wales Legislative Council Robyn Preston, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Andrew Bell and Minister for Skills, TechnicalEducation , Training and Higher Education of New South Wales Steve Whan.

The Ambassador also visited the University of Sydney (USYD) and the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), the Illawarra Hydrogen Centre, the Sydney Integrated Transport System (SCATS), Hillridge Technology Company and dietary supplement company Raydel.

During the discussion, Governor Beazley appreciated the rapid development of the cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Australia, especially since the two countries upgraded their relationship to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership during Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh 's official visit to Australia last March.

Governor Beazley also expressed his delight at the good friendship and cooperation between New South Wales and Ho Chi Minh City.

At the meetings, the legislative and judicial leaders of New South Wales emphasized the importance of parliamentary and judicial cooperation between Australia and Vietnam. Speaker of the House of Representatives Piper highly appreciated the Australia-Vietnam cooperation in the fields of politics, diplomacy, economics, trade and investment; agreed to strengthen educational cooperation, people-to-people exchange and judicial experience exchange.

Meanwhile, Deputy Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council of this state, Preston, expressed his interest in cooperation in exchanging parliamentarians and learning about the driving forces for developing relations between the two countries. The leaders of the New South Wales Parliament all highly appreciated the role of the Friendship Parliamentarians of the two countries.

Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Andrew Bell wants to increase exchanges of judicial delegations and promote cooperation at relevant international and regional forums, including the Conference of Chief Justices of Asia-Pacific countries, while the head of Skills, Technical Education, Training and Higher Education of New South Wales Steve Whan is very interested in cooperation in vocational education and training between the two countries.

Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Andrew Bell emphasized the important role of international students, including Vietnamese students, in the education industry of Australia in general and New South Wales in particular, which has the largest number of Vietnamese students studying.

During Ambassador Pham Hung Tam's visits and working sessions with the University of Sydney and the University of Technology Sydney, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Sydney Kirsten Andrews and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Technology Sydney Iain Watt both expressed their delight at the development of the school's cooperation with Vietnamese universities, especially since the official visit of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to Australia.

Leaders of the University of Sydney and the University of Technology Sydney highly appreciated the capacity, knowledge and diligence of Vietnamese students studying at the school; said that the school is interested in creating favorable conditions for Vietnamese students in the learning process as well as student management.

At the working sessions, companies and technology centers in New South Wales introduced to Ambassador Pham Hung Tam their potential, development strategy, business and cooperation opportunities with Vietnam, especially the application of technology in the fields of traffic management, telecommunications, agriculture, 5G infrastructure development, green transformation, renewable energy, etc.

During the meetings, Ambassador Pham Hung Tam highly appreciated the new developments in the cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Australia since the two countries upgraded their relationship to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership; emphasized the importance of cooperation between localities of the two countries, including the effective cooperation between the state of New South Wales and Ho Chi Minh City; requested the state's leaders to continue to pay attention to supporting local Vietnamese associations to contribute to the friendly relationship between the two countries and consider removing some temporary restrictions on students from the central region of Vietnam.

Ambassador Pham Hung Tam also highly appreciated New South Wales as one of Australia's focal states in relations with Vietnam in terms of economy, trade, education, tourism, technology, green transformation, and energy transformation; at the same time respectfully reiterated the invitation to Governor Beazley to attend the Ho Chi Minh City Economic Forum next September; highlighted the role of the Friendship Parliamentarians of the two countries and suggested that the state government support Vietnamese business associations, intellectuals, and students who have a stance in favor of the relationship between the two countries.

Ambassador Pham Hung Tam highlighted the cooperation between the University of Sydney and the University of Technology Sydney with Vietnamese partners, especially the agreement reached during Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's official visit to Australia; called for promoting training cooperation in the fields of technology, renewable energy, etc.; requested universities in the state of New South Wales to coordinate with the Vietnamese representative agency in this state in particular and in Australia in general in managing and protecting Vietnamese citizens and students.

Ambassador Pham Hung Tam met and interacted with representatives of the Vietnamese community in New South Wales, asking them to comply with local laws and actively contribute to the friendship and cooperation between the two countries./.
