Despite its new nickname, the product has a similar architecture to the Dimensity 1300 and 1200. This SoC supports quad-channel RAM and dual-channel UFS 3.1 internal storage.
The device is manufactured using TSMC's 6nm process. It features a 5G modem and an 8-core architecture, including four high-speed Cortex-A78 cores: one ultra-high-speed core clocked at up to 3GHz and three high-performance cores clocked at up to 2.6GHz. The remaining four Cortex-A55 cores handle power-saving tasks.
The chipset features an Arm Mali-G77 GPU with 9 dedicated graphics cores. Additionally, the Dimensity 8050 supports 4K video recording and a single 200MP camera with 20% faster night vision capabilities compared to previous Dimensity models.
Additionally, SoCs offer manufacturers the flexibility to design smartphones with Full-HD+ displays up to 168Hz or Quad-HD+ displays with a 90Hz refresh rate.
In addition, the product also includes MediaTek MiraVision, which provides various HDR video display and playback technologies to deliver a cinema-level experience for users.
The Tecno Camon 20 Premier is the first smartphone to feature this chipset.
