Introducing the book "Cam Pha

After nearly two years of construction, completion of compilation, approval of the outline, and acceptance testing, the book "Cam Pha - Land and People" was launched on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the mining region (April 25, 1955 - April 25, 2025).

Comrade Pham Van Kinh, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Cam Pha City, said that this is a research project, a publication that not only has comprehensive value regarding the history, culture, and natural conditions of Cam Pha City, but also carries great spiritual significance at a time marked by many important milestones such as: the 50th anniversary of Vietnamese literature and art; the 50th anniversary of the complete liberation of the South and reunification of the country (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the mining region (April 25, 1955 - April 25, 2025); and in response to the annual "Book and Reading Culture Day".

Notably, the book was released at a time when the Project for restructuring and reorganizing administrative units at all levels and building a two-tiered local government organizational model was being implemented nationwide.

In this context, the book is not only a recognition of the great contributions of generations of officials and people of all ethnic groups in Cam Pha city in the journey of construction and development, but also a symbol preserving the memory of a memorable historical period of Cam Pha.

Each page is a testament to a land rich in revolutionary traditions, a tribute to the past, and a valuable resource for present and future generations to better understand, cherish, and continue on the path of building a more prosperous and civilized homeland.

Delegates attended the launch ceremony to introduce the book "Cam Pha - Land and People".

The book contains 10 chapters, divided into 3 main parts.

Part 1: Regarding natural conditions, population, and administration, this section provides an overview of the geographical conditions, natural resources, the origin, changes, and characteristics of the population, and the history of changes and administrative organization of Cam Pha City.

Part 2: Regarding history, it has outlined the historical process of the city from its origins to 2022, through various periods and stages, both linked to the history of the country and Quang Ninh province, and also reflecting the unique characteristics of the Cam Pha region.

Part 3: Regarding culture, it reflects the material and spiritual life of the people of Cam Pha, past and present, and historical and artistic relics as cultural resources of Cam Pha city.

The book was compiled by researchers from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, the Institute of Vietnamese Studies and Development Science of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and several other scientific institutions.

This book is compiled based on published research achievements, investigation results, and collected source materials from central and provincial archives in Quang Ninh province, Cam Pha city, religious and belief organizations, wards, communes, and organizations and individuals in the city.

Leaders of the Cam Pha City People's Committee presented the book "Cam Pha - Land and People" to the delegates.

The book "Cam Pha - Land and People" comprehensively summarizes the geography, population, history, land, people, cultural traditions, and struggles against foreign invaders, as well as the diligent and creative spirit of the people of the Cam Pha mining region, along with the tradition of "Discipline and Unity" of the heroic mining land and the spirit of "Convergence of Miners' Culture - Spreading Human Kindness in the Coal Region".

This book is a valuable scientific and practical document, contributing to affirming the important strategic position of Cam Pha in the development of Quang Ninh province in particular and Vietnam in general.
