On December 19, in Bac Giang , Syngenta Vietnam Co., Ltd. officially launched the fungicide Orande 280SC with leading advanced technology and a unique dual-action mechanism, promising to bring outstanding efficiency in controlling downy mildew on lychee trees.
The product launch ceremony took place in Bac Giang province with the participation of representatives of the Department of Cultivation and Plant Protection of Bac Giang, Hai Duong, Hung Yen provinces and representatives of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Luc Ngan, Tan Yen, Phu Cu districts... In addition, the event also had the participation of many good farmers and owners of agricultural supply stores in the area.

Lychee is an important crop with great economic development potential. However, if not invested in careful care and disease prevention, lychee trees are susceptible to pests and diseases during the changing seasons or at sensitive stages such as flowering and fruit ripening... One of the common pests on this crop is downy mildew. Downy mildew causes damage from flowering, fruit setting to harvest, but is most dangerous during flowering and fruiting and about 15-20 days before fruit ripening. If there are no timely prevention and control measures, yield losses can be up to 70%, causing great losses for farmers. This is one of the biggest risks to lychee cultivation by farmers, but currently, the market does not have many effective solutions to control this disease.
Orande 280SC is highly effective, controlling downy mildew on lychee flowers and fruits up to 90%.
As a leader in the agricultural chemicals industry, Syngenta is always a pioneer in introducing technological solutions for disease control with outstanding effectiveness, helping to increase productivity and yield of commercial fruits, maximizing profits for farmers.
After a global research process, Syngenta Vietnam has cooperated with research institutes and authorities to conduct trials and evaluate the effectiveness of new products in lychee growing areas in Vietnam. The trials showed that the product Orande 280SC (Oxathiapiprolin (OXTP) 30g/L & Mandipropamid (MPD) - 250 g/L) with a dual-action mechanism has proven to be highly effective in eliminating downy mildew on lychee trees.
When Orande 280SC is sprayed on lychee trees and comes into contact with the fungus, the first mechanism, OXTP, will interrupt the transport of lipids between the cell membrane. At the same time, the second mechanism, MPD, will inhibit the synthesis of cellulose, breaking down the structure of the fungal cell wall, ensuring the destruction of the fungus at two different locations and without the risk of cross-resistance.
Orande 280SC effectively controls downy mildew, helping lychee to set beautiful fruit.
Thanks to its advanced mechanism of action, Orande 280SC is highly effective, controlling downy mildew on flowers and lychee fruit by up to 90%, an average of 10-15% higher than the solutions that farmers are currently using. In addition, Orande 280SC also limits flower drop by up to 15%, flower clusters are brighter and healthier, fruit set rate is 10% higher than previous years, fruit is fuller and more beautiful. Not only does it help clean downy mildew, Orande 280SC also helps the lychee peel to be bright and beautiful, with a characteristic bright pink color. The product penetrates quickly, has strong circulation, and is effective for up to 14 days. Safe for lychee trees even when flowering, can be used from the beginning to the end of the season.
Mr. Nguyen Van Toan (Head of Plant Protection Department - Department of Cultivation and Plant Protection of Bac Giang province) shared: "The results after two sprays of Orande 280SC showed that the effectiveness of controlling downy mildew was 10-15% higher than the conventional control method. Notably, the control effect can last up to 14 days. This product is safe for lychee trees, even during the flowering stage, and can be used throughout the season. Based on these positive results, we will propose to continue recommending the use of Orande 280SC to prevent downy mildew right from the beginning of the season in the next season."
