(Northern Power Service Company) is still working hard on the comprehensive maintenance and repair of switching and transmission equipment - to ensure stable power supply to households, agencies and businesses in the area ( old Ha Long City , Ha Long City). Old Cam Pha ).
The 110kV Ha Tu transformer station (E5.10) is one of the strategic transformer stations in Quang Ninh , receiving power from two 110kV lines (173, 174 from the 500kV Quang Ninh station) to supply power to the areas of Ha Tu, Ha Lam, Hong Ha, Hong Hai, Bach Dang, Hong Gai wards in Ha Long City (old), and connecting part of Cao Xanh ward, part of Cam Pha area according to the actual line area support connection. With a capacity of 2x63MVA, the station acts as an "electricity transfer station" serving both people's lives and production - where electricity cannot be interrupted even for a few minutes, especially during the summer peak due to many important loads such as: provincial government offices, security, defense, communications, radio and television headquarters, etc.
Comprehensive maintenance and servicing of equipment at the station at this time is not only a periodic technical requirement, but also urgent in the context of high temperatures, equipment operating continuously with high loads, which can easily lead to overheating, reduced lifespan or potential risks of incidents due to equipment carrying large loads in harsh weather conditions for a long time.
Mr. Hoang Van Bang, Deputy Director of Quang Ninh Power Service Enterprise, who directly supervises the technical aspects of the project, said: “The 110kV Ha Tu transformer station not only supplies electricity for people's daily life, production and services but also for important loads such as: Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People's Committee, inter-agency headquarters, radio and television stations, police and military headquarters, hospitals and other important loads located in Ha Tu, Ha Lam, Hong Ha, Hong Hai, Bach Dang, Hong Gai wards of Ha Long City (old), and is connected to the grid in part of Cao Xanh ward, part of Cam Pha area according to the actual wire area support connection. If an incident occurs during a high load period like now, the consequences will be very serious. Therefore, despite the hot and harsh weather, we still have to fully implement the maintenance plan according to the correct procedures, ensuring quality and absolute safety. This is the best way to prevent incidents and keep the power supply running smoothly for production and life".
The maintenance on August 2 (and expected on August 12) was carried out at a high intensity, divided into 3 independent working groups, performing maintenance on a series of important equipment such as 110kV outdoor circuit breakers, 22kV and 35kV medium voltage circuit breakers, DCL disconnectors, control cabinets, etc. Each operation must be performed with absolute precision within the limited power outage time of 3-4 hours so as not to affect the continuous power supply.
Sweating under the scorching sun, engineer Nguyen Van Manh, project manager, shared: “Working under the sun at over 37 degrees Celsius, sometimes the surface of the measuring device was nearly 50 degrees, sweat soaked our shirts after just a few minutes, but the team members always encouraged each other, trying to keep up with the schedule.”
Each operation such as measuring contact resistance, checking SF6 gas, cleaning the circuit breaker compartment, maintaining springs, contacts, control systems, etc. were recorded and photographed by the staff of Quang Ninh Power Service Enterprise before and after implementation. Despite the hardship, all strictly followed the electrical safety procedures. 100% of the staff and workers participating in the construction achieved electrical safety level 5/5 - the highest level, and were periodically inspected according to regulations.
Mr. Vu Duc Hanh, Quang Ninh Power Service Enterprise, who has more than 15 years of experience in the power industry, confided: “The heat is really hard, but we are used to it. The greatest joy is when the work is completed, knowing that people still have electricity to use air conditioning, and businesses do not have to stop production.”
Completing maintenance on schedule and following the correct maintenance procedures at Ha Tu Transformer Station not only helps ensure stable equipment operation and reduces the risk of incidents, but also contributes to maintaining continuous power supply for thousands of households, production and business establishments in the area.
Mr. Le Ba Quyen, Deputy Director of Quang Ninh Power Company, said: “During the peak of the hot season, the demand for electricity consumption increases sharply, putting great pressure on the power grid. If we do not proactively carry out periodic maintenance, the risk of power interruption is real. I highly appreciate the sense of responsibility and professionalism of the staff of Quang Ninh Power Service Enterprise - NPSC, who are silently keeping the rhythm of modern life running smoothly.”
From the people and businesses, sympathy and support for electricians is even more evident. Mr. Nguyen The Anh, owner of a seafood processing facility in Ha Long Ward, shared: “Electricity is a vital factor for our production. Seeing electricians working without rest and eating under the scorching sun like that, we truly admire them.”
Ms. Dang Thi Thu Phuong, a resident of Ha Long ward, said: “A power outage in this weather is very tiring, especially for students who are on summer vacation at home. Knowing that you are proactively maintaining the system to avoid unexpected power outages, I feel reassured.”
