On the morning of July 15, speaking with Dan Viet reporter, Chairman of Ba To District People's Committee Pham Xuan Vinh said that after the success of the model of applying Nano organic fertilizer in vegetable production and growing chayote in Bui Hui grassland, Ba Trang commune, the district government has directed its affiliated professional agencies to develop a specific plan to develop and expand the area of these crops.

It is known that in mid-April 2024, after 6 months of implementation, Ba To district organized a summary of the model of applying Nano organic fertilizer in vegetable production and growing chayote in Bui Hui grassland, Bui Hui village, Ba Trang commune.
On an area of 9,000m2, Ba To district grows 3 types of vegetables and tubers originating from cold climates, including cabbage, cauliflower, and chayote. Of these, cauliflower alone is about 3,000m2/4 participating households; chayote is 6,000m2/5 participating households.
The total cost to implement the model is nearly 94 million VND, of which 88 million VND is from the State budget, the rest is contributed by the people. Participating in the model, households are supported 100% with seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides.
A representative of Ba To district government said that in order for the model to achieve the set results, the locality requires participating households to strictly comply with technical requirements in all stages, such as using Nano organic fertilizer for fertilization, absolutely not using uncomposted manure; regularly cleaning vegetable gardens; and using biological products to control pests and diseases appropriately.
Another notable issue is that each household must have a notebook to record the entire production process, clearly stating the quantity and type of seeds; sowing date, amount of fertilizer, application date, harvest date... to trace the origin.

Thanks to training, support and guidance from the district's professional agencies, the number of households participating in the model of growing cabbage, cauliflower and chayote have taken good care of their planted areas.
Thanks to that, even though planting at an unfavorable time, 100% of cabbage, cauliflower, chayote and the resulting harvest yielded good yields, with profits of over 20 million VND.
Ms. Pham Thi Ve, one of the members participating in the model, confided that growing these types of trees sells very well. Therefore, she hopes that in the future, her family will continue to expand the planting area.
Chairman of Ba To District People's Committee Pham Xuan Vinh said that reality has proven that cabbage, cauliflower, and chayote are initially very suitable for the climate and soil of Bui Hui steppe, promising to open up a new direction, contributing to diversifying crops and livestock to increase people's income.
However, because the traditional farming methods of the people are still backward and dependent on natural conditions, the district will gradually expand the model to develop sustainably.

“Along with the number of participants, the district will select a number of typical households to guide and support, gradually increasing the area; at the same time, searching and connecting to consumption markets, stabilizing output for people,” added Chairman of Ba To District People's Committee Pham Xuan Vinh.
