Public speaking is a core skill for the young generation in the era of integration. ELYHtalk is not only a regular presentation contest but also a learning and experience environment that helps contestants: Develop fluent and natural English skills; Practice presentation skills, critical thinking and inspiration; Build confidence and courage when standing in front of the public; Connect with young people with the same passion, expand their network of relationships and experience international culture.
The competition is for students and young people who love challenges. Contestants will be supported by a team of experienced instructors from ELYH (English Lights Your Home Association), participate in workshops and have the opportunity to appear in major community events.
ELYHtalk is a brand new national English presentation contest.
Mr. Sang Do - Founder of ELYH - the unit implementing the ELYHtalk project, shared: “The sad reality is that young Vietnamese people study a lot but speak poorly; understand deeply, but express poorly; have talent but lack confidence to let the world see. Not because we are bad, but because we have never been placed in an environment where we are forced to speak, allowed to make mistakes, to be corrected, and to be trained .
“The ELYHtalk project is designed to develop public speaking skills, critical thinking and creativity in the Vietnamese community, regardless of age, social status, gender or religion.
Anyone is welcome, as long as you have an idea worth sharing. We want ELYHtalk to become a professional playground where young people not only speak English but also learn how to inspire and be creative,” Mr. Sang added.
The first competition just took place, attracting many talents from more than 10 provinces and cities, from Hanoi, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Bac Ninh, Thai Binh , Hai Duong, Nam Dinh to Dong Nai, Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho.
Each of you brings your own color, your own creative energy, and your strong desire to rise up. This combination creates a language festival - where English is not only a communication tool but also a means to express your thinking, personality and vision.
ELYHtalk is held regularly, expected to be every 3-6 months. The annual final will take place at the end of each year with cash prizes and valuable gifts, to encourage and honor young talents.
The project aims to foster public speaking skills, enhance critical thinking and inspire creativity in young Vietnamese people.
English Lights Your Home (ELYH) - the project implementation unit - is a prestigious English learning community with a nationwide scale, gathering a team of dedicated and experienced teachers and instructors with a deep understanding of modern educational methods. ELYHtalk's judges are all high-quality English teachers, selected from ELYH's own training system.
