In particular, the Congress was also attended by 150 official delegates representing more than 43,000 ethnic minorities living in the district.
According to the Political report, Go Quao is a district with a large Khmer ethnic population, with 10 communes, 01 town with 99 hamlets and neighborhoods, including 6 communes in ethnic minority and mountainous areas (Dinh An, Dinh Hoa, Thuy Lieu, Thoi Quan, Vinh Hoa Hung Nam and Vinh Phuoc B); population of 34,238 households with 137,737 people, ethnic minorities account for 33.57%.
Currently, the total number of poor households in the district is 692, accounting for 2.01%; near-poor households are 852, accounting for 2.48% (of which 345 poor households are ethnic minorities, 360 near-poor households are ethnic minorities.
In the period of 2019-2024, Go Quao district has well implemented programs and policy projects to support socio-economic development in ethnic minority areas in the district. The National Target Program on Socio -Economic Development in Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas for the period of 2021-2030 has supported the construction of 131 new houses, 184 households to change their jobs, and provided 127 water tanks for poor ethnic minority households. Repaired 06 hamlet cultural houses and organized sports competitions, supported participation in competitions on the occasion of the Cultural, Sports and Tourism Festival of Khmer people in Kien Giang province and the traditional Chol - Chnam - Thmay New Year of the Khmer people. Opened 12 vocational classes for 187 workers in ethnic minority areas.
Over the past 5 years, over 523 ethnic minority children have participated in rural vocational training classes; more than 3,597 people have been consulted, introduced and found jobs in factories and enterprises in and outside the province. There are 2,087 ethnic minority households achieving the title of "Excellent Farmers and Businessmen" at all levels.
Speaking at the Congress, Mr. Nguyen Luu Trung, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for the 4th Congress of Ethnic Minorities in Kien Giang Province in 2024, said: Go Quao district is a locality with a large number of ethnic minorities, with 05 ethnic groups living together. Throughout historical periods, ethnic minorities in Go Quao district, together with ethnic minorities in the whole province, have always upheld the spirit of patriotism, solidarity, and stood side by side in the fight against foreign invaders, gaining independence for the nation and building and defending the homeland. Many outstanding children of ethnic minorities in Go Quao district have fought and sacrificed heroically, becoming shining examples for the nation.

Mr. Nguyen Luu Trung also noted the key tasks in the coming time for cadres and party members, which are: it is necessary to promote propaganda and dissemination of the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's policies and laws on ethnic affairs, ethnic policies and National Target Programs; on that basis, firmly consolidate the great solidarity of ethnic groups on the principles of equality, solidarity, mutual assistance and mutual development.
Continue to prioritize resources to implement ethnic policies, invest in developing and perfecting socio-economic infrastructure, especially in difficult areas and revolutionary bases. Promote poverty reduction, improve the material and spiritual life of people, especially in difficult areas. Focus on solving the needs for residential land, production land, housing, and domestic water.
In addition, continue to promote the potential and advantages of each commune and town, develop diverse household economic models in the direction of shifting production structure associated with processing and product consumption, developing export goods and services, tourism; provide appropriate support according to regulations for investors in ethnic minority areas to solve jobs for local workers with stable income; support people to develop the economy.
Continue to pay attention to preserving and developing good cultural values, tangible and intangible cultural heritages, promoting the written languages of ethnic minorities; building a new rural cultural life; paying attention to improving the quality of ethnic minority human resources, training, fostering, planning, and appointing ethnic minority cadres. At the same time, promoting the role of prestigious people among ethnic minorities in propaganda and mobilization work; promoting patriotic emulation movements in ethnic minority areas.
The Congress considered and nominated 20 official delegates and 2 delegates to attend the Provincial Congress. At the same time, the representative of the Presidium approved the Resolution Letter of the 4th Congress of Go District Delegates in 2024 with specific targets to strive to achieve in the period of 2024 - 2029.
At the Congress, the Organizing Committee announced the Decision to award Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to 2 groups and 4 individuals with outstanding achievements in ethnic work and national solidarity; the Provincial Ethnic Committee awarded Certificates of Merit from the Head of the Provincial Ethnic Committee to 2 groups and 4 individuals.
The Organizing Committee of the 4th Congress of Ethnic Minorities in Go Quao District in 2024 awarded certificates of merit from the Chairman of the District People's Committee to 3 collectives and 15 individuals with outstanding achievements in the special emulation movement "Achievement to welcome the 4th Congress of Ethnic Minorities" in Go Quao District in 2024.
After the closing ceremony of the Congress, the Steering Committee and Organizing Committee of the 4th Congress of Ethnic Minorities in Kien Giang Province in 2024 held a meeting to review experiences and promptly direct the next units to organize the Congress in border and island areas.
