New Perspectives
Dang Thuy Tram - a character that has been exploited by many film crews. This posed a huge requirement for the production team of Thuy's Corner . Director Huynh Thanh Huyen said: "The first challenge was how to tell about her from a new perspective, but still touch the emotions of the audience. Because Thuy's Corner is not only a story about a female doctor who sacrificed in the war, but also shows the journey to find memories along with the Vietnamese soul, the sacrifice, love and aspiration for a good life that Ms. Dang Thuy Tram left behind".
Mr. Dang Hong Son (screenwriter of the film Thuy's Corner ) added more details to the "new perspective" of the film. He said that he was lucky to have a very close relationship with Dang Thuy Tram's family. Thanks to that, he had the opportunity to access many documents about her. Especially the diaries recording her life during her days in the Duc Pho battlefield (Quang Ngai). The third diary recorded her student days, in which she recounted that before going to B, Thuy cycled 120 km to Dong Mo, Lang Son to visit her friend, Ngo San Huy. Those were very interesting and touching details that he had read and heard from her relatives. Thanks to that, the idea came to him.
Dang Thuy Tram's book and the third diary will be released on June 18.

"We immediately determined that these would be completely different films. Thuy's angle approached very new perspectives. That is through the eyes of friends and family members such as: Mrs. Dang Kim Tram (younger sister), Mrs. Dang Phuong Tram (younger sister), Dang Hien Tram (younger sister), People's Artist Dang Nhat Minh, veteran journalist Suzuki Katsuhiko (former Head of Akahata Branch in Hanoi ), poet Nguyen Huy Hoang (Moscow - the person who arranged to translate the book) "Dang Thuy Tram's Diary will be translated into Russian, and a book introduction event will be held in Russia... Those characters will tell stories about her, tell deep memories of Dang Thuy Tram with love and sincerity," Mr. Son added.
For director Ho Nhat Thao, he also believes that the stories may not be new, but the feelings of those who stay behind will create portraits of Ms. Dang Thuy Tram with new colors. The director of the film Thuy's Corner shared: "The film has many stories. They are not new stories. But clearly the inner feelings, emotions and feelings of each person remain intact every day. That is still something very new. That is the factor that helps us see Ms. Thuy from a different perspective. And when recalling her story, whether it is 1 year, 10 years or 20 years, that story still brings extremely new emotions and those are good things."
With the touches in the way the lens is placed, the film crew has created a highlight for Thuy's Corner . In addition, the crew also chose some works with the theme of Dang Thuy Tram to exploit. This is like a crossroads between them and other artists.

The intersections
Choosing the same theme of martyr - doctor Dang Thuy Tram, musician - Meritorious Artist Dinh Tham composed the song Thuy oi!, Meritorious Artist Pham Huy Thuc staged the stage play Dang Thuy Tram , director - People's Artist Dang Nhat Minh made the film Dung Dot , translators around the world translated the book Dang Thuy Tram's Diary ... Almost every work created a buzz in their own field. The film crew chose them as characters. They all met each other on the theme and their love for Ms. Thuy.
It can be seen that this is also a new perspective, another highlight of the film when the public has the opportunity to hear the "kitchen" stories of musicians, directors, and translators about the opportunity to carry out the projects; at the same time, listen to them share stories and express their love and respect for martyr - doctor Dang Thuy Tram.
The crew had a lot of material and a lot of characters. This was an advantage. However, with a short duration and to ensure focus and rigor, this became another challenge for the crew members.
With logical thinking, professional techniques and ingenuity, the filmmaking team made the story seamless, the segments closely linked together. "When making this film, I realized that one important thing is to connect the inner feelings of the characters, to create a river of emotions. The river of emotions is the source of the film and also the message that the film wants to convey to the audience," director Ho Nhat Thao shared.

From the small attic on Doi Can street where the artifacts are kept to the Duc Pho battlefield where she fell with pride... it has opened up spaces with deep memories in the hearts of every person, as if reminding them of a heroic girl who is forever twenty years old. From here, the filmmakers and the characters have connected with each other, connected with the image of the martyr - doctor Dang Thuy Tram, thereby creating sympathy and vibrations of the people involved, quickly resonating in the hearts of the viewers.
Opening from the attic, the perspective gradually widens, Thuy's Corner seems to open up a vast space, where memories are still recorded to echo the songs about Dang Thuy Tram that make people's hearts ache. The film is not only historical stories, true memories but also conveys the message of life, knowing how to love, knowing how to sacrifice and knowing how to preserve good values today and tomorrow. That is the recognition of the contributions of the Hero of the People's Armed Forces - martyr - doctor Dang Thuy Tram as well as many soldiers who lived and fought during the fierce war years for the independence and freedom of the country today.
And perhaps the image of Ms. Dang Thuy Tram has stood firm in the hearts of many generations with her love, our love. Like the two lines of poetry she wrote: "And who knows who/Love has given us long wings"...
