Grab Vietnam is accelerating technology innovation, improving operations, and promoting brand promotion programs to bring better service experiences to users at airports, train stations, and bus stations across the country. These are locations that are predicted to need to cope with a surge in travel demand during the peak summer tourist season of 2024.

This is not the first year Grab has focused on improving services and operations to serve users during peak tourist seasons.
In addition to technological improvements, in 2023, Grab invested more than VND50 billion in operating services at airports, train stations, and bus stations to improve the service experience for passengers, increase operational efficiency for driver partners, and increase operational and support personnel in these areas. That is not to mention cooperation programs with related parties to ensure that Grab can serve passengers quickly with the best possible quality.
Ms. Nguyen Hanh Linh, Director of Mobility, Grab Vietnam, said: "Grab's top goal is to create conditions for both domestic passengers and international tourists to easily identify Grab services, book and pick up cars quickly, and have safe, convenient and economical journeys with Grab."
Meeting the increasing demand for travel
Vietnam's tourism industry is expected to see a strong recovery in 2023, with the number of domestic tourists reaching a historic high (103.2 million) and international arrivals recorded at 70% (12.59 million) compared to pre-COVID-19 levels in 2019.
With the presence of GrabCar and GrabBike services at airports, train stations, and bus stations nationwide, users have more safe, convenient, and reliable travel options. In 2023, the total number of GrabBike and GrabCar trips with destinations/pick-up points at airports, train stations, and bus stations nationwide will increase by 36% and 68%, respectively, compared to 2022.
Notably, in 2023, the number of Grab trips with pick-up points at the two largest international airports in the country, Tan Son Nhat and Noi Bai, increased by 134% and 178% respectively compared to 2022. This shows that Grab's transportation service is not only popular with domestic users but also the top choice of international tourists, thanks to the advantage of being an application providing daily services present in 8 Southeast Asian countries.
Delivering a seamless mobility experience
Passengers can sometimes have trouble getting a ride at crowded airports. Taking advantage of technology, Grab has solved this inconvenience with the "airport navigation guide" feature to help passengers move easily with GrabCar and GrabBike.
Upon landing at Tan Son Nhat Airport, both domestic and international travelers can conveniently get directions to Grab pick-up points. The directions are shown in real-life photos, displayed right on the passenger's Grab app.

In addition, Grab also provides a seamless travel experience by improving operational efficiency for driver-partners. For example, the Airport Queue feature allows Grab driver-partners to know their real-time queue at airports, including queue number and estimated waiting time. With this accurate information, driver-partners can conveniently manage their time to optimize operational efficiency at the airport.
These efforts have brought about many positive results. At Tan Son Nhat Airport, passengers at the domestic arrival terminal can catch Grab cars in a separate lane, which is safer and more convenient. Grab also enhances its brand promotion images and direct support staff right at the airport to be able to serve passengers promptly.
In Lam Dong, Grab has just launched GrabCar service on the route from Lien Khuong airport to Da Lat and vice versa. At Da Nang airport, Grab is working with management agencies to tighten the operation process of GrabCar service, ensuring that passengers can easily identify Grab's pick-up and drop-off locations, and book GrabCar safely and conveniently.
At the new Eastern Bus Station in Ho Chi Minh City, Grab is setting up a buffer zone for GrabCar vehicles and offering incentives to passengers to improve connectivity and stimulate demand at this location, following the direction of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport.
Delivering a better international travel experience
Across Southeast Asia, Grab is working with international airports to enhance the passenger travel experience, starting from the moment they arrive in a country until they end their trip. Grab is expanding its network of driver partners at airports and providing training programs to help passengers get the best experience from their first ride. At many airports, Grab has set up waiting areas or lounges to help passengers achieve the best “airport experience”.
Grab’s brand promotion activities are not limited to Southeast Asia. For example, with markets such as Korea, China, the US, India, etc., which tend to choose Vietnam as a favorite tourist destination, Grab is actively bringing the message of safe travel to potential tourists. This makes it easy for tourists to download the Grab app, book a Grab ride with fares clearly displayed on the app, and then travel safely and conveniently as soon as they arrive in Vietnam.
Through a variety of daily services on the platform, Grab aims to encourage users within and outside the region to travel and explore Vietnam in particular and a rich Southeast Asia in general.
Ms. Nguyen Hanh Linh added: "We will continue to invest in improving the quality of services at airports, bus stations, and train stations so that GrabCar and GrabBike are truly reliable and safe transportation services for Vietnamese people and international tourists. This is also meaningful for Grab driver partners, because meeting the increased travel demand during the summer tourist season means more income opportunities for them."
