According to Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Doan, hosting the INWES-APNN 2024 Conference is a great success of the Vietnam Association of Women Intellectuals. Not only is it a clear demonstration of the Association's dynamism, creativity and vision, the event also contributes to the implementation of Resolution 45-NQ/TW of the 13th Party Central Committee on continuing to build and promote the role of intellectuals, meeting the requirements of rapid and sustainable national development in the new period.

“The success of the Conference not only enhances Vietnam's position in the international arena in the field of science and technology, but also contributes to promoting domestic innovation,” affirmed Ms. Nguyen Thi Doan.

Also at the conference, Dr. Sarah Peers – President of INWES, emphasized that the network is an effective bridge, helping female scientists and engineers convey their opinions and recommendations to senior leaders in the region and international organizations. This is especially important in the context of the lack of leadership and decision-making roles of women in the STEM field, an issue that was discussed extensively at the symposium on the afternoon of October 4.

Dr. Sarah Peers also expressed her hope that women would participate more actively in the network of scientists. To achieve this goal, she said that sharing ongoing research projects is extremely necessary. Thanks to that, female scientists can call for investment, seek support and cooperate to develop and replicate their projects.

The INWES – APNN leadership discussed important issues of the network, including development strategies, future work plans and ways to enhance cooperation among members.

At the end of the conference, delegates adopted the Hanoi Declaration to demonstrate the vision and strong determination of INWES-APNN members in promoting the participation and contribution of women in science and technology towards sustainable development. In addition, Korea was chosen as the host country for the INWES-APNN Conference 2025, promising to continue to maintain and develop this important network.
