Hanoi: Offering incense to commemorate heroic martyrs and youth volunteers

On the occasion of the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2025), on July 25, at Khuyen Luong ferry area, the Hanoi City Association of Former Youth Volunteers held an incense offering ceremony to commemorate the heroic martyrs of Hanoi Youth Volunteers.

At this place, a memorial stele was erected to commemorate the 5 martyrs of the N49 Youth Volunteer Team and 275 youth volunteers of the Capital, marking the brave fighting spirit and selflessness of the youth volunteers under the fierce rain of bombs and bullets of the enemy.
Speaking at the memorial ceremony, Chairman of the Hanoi City Youth Volunteer Veterans Association Nguyen Van Dinh said: In front of the monument honoring the Hanoi Youth Volunteer Martyrs, we, the comrades and teammates of the Hanoi Capital Youth Volunteers, always remember the martyrs who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.
The memorial ceremony took place solemnly, warmly, and emotionally, expressing deep gratitude to the heroic martyrs.

At the ceremony, delegates observed a minute of silence, expressing their infinite gratitude to revolutionary predecessors, heroic Vietnamese mothers, heroic martyrs, and those who sacrificed their lives for the independence and freedom of the nation and for the happiness of the people.

Mr. Nguyen Van Dinh said: After 20 years of establishment and development, the Hanoi City Association of Former Youth Volunteers has always been united, striving to overcome all difficulties and challenges; achieving results in many areas of work.

In particular, in the special emulation movement: "Former youth volunteers of the Capital on the journey to follow Uncle Ho's teachings", eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses, following the call of the Prime Minister , up to now, the Association has built and repaired 78 gratitude houses for former youth volunteers in difficult circumstances, with a total amount of more than 3.4 billion VND. The movement will continue until the end of 2025, leaving no one behind.

“We promise to promote the spirit of solidarity and heroic tradition; carry out well the tasks assigned by the Party and the State; build a team of cadres and members of former youth volunteers from the city to the grassroots with capacity, dedication and responsibility; build an increasingly strong Association; promote patriotic emulation movements and campaigns, for the sake of comradeship, contributing worthily to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland,” Mr. Nguyen Van Dinh emphasized.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai Hien, former President of the Association of Former Youth Volunteers of Hoang Mai District, recalled the sacrifice of the five Hanoi Youth Volunteers, who devoted their youth and lives to the cause of national liberation. Their names will forever be engraved in the hearts of the Vietnamese people.

Veterans offered incense to commemorate their comrades, expressing their deep gratitude and appreciation to those who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.

On this occasion, relatives and families of martyrs and local people also came to burn incense to pay tribute to the heroic martyrs and youth volunteers who fell at Khuyen Luong ferry area.

Together with the previous generation, the youth union members participated in meaningful activities, affirming the responsibility of the youth in preserving and promoting revolutionary traditions, while expressing deep gratitude to those who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the nation.

Former youth volunteers of the Capital returned to the old battlefield, where they devoted their youth and strength, to contribute to the peace and beauty of today's country.
